Coming from a design standpoint I have always held that less is more. A good logo if using one at all should be simple, original, and especially if on a pipe small and go practically unnoticed. Have you ever saw the profile of a pipe, loved the finish, checked all the specks and were ready to pull the trigger but for that gawd awful visually annoying logo? I certainly have I won’t be the first to sling mud as everyone has their own tastes but it can really be a bummer…starting to see why “ the white dot” has so much appeal. You have to give it to Dunhill on minimalist design, utilitarian, functional, beautiful…

Logos/Branding are promises that get the product to your door. After a few dozen smokes, what keeps the dust off the pipe is if it actually works for you.

If you have ever smoked the same pipe twice, then you know what it's like to smoke a decent estate. If I were to start the pipe journey over again, I would go a real long time without purchasing a fresh unsmoked pipe. I would have saved a lot of money.

Also, if you love the tobacco you are smoking, then almost any logo on the pipe you're holding at the moment turns into the perfect logo.

No.
If I like the pipe aesthetics, and it smokes well, then the logo doesn't mean squat to me.
If I may ask, which logos really piss you off?
I was thinking this myself, because of all the pipes I've looked at, I haven't seen a single one that had a logo on the pipe stem that was too busy or something. The vast majority of what I can recall is just a single, stamped letter if they have one at all.

I never even think about looking at the logos. I won't say visual appeal doesn't matter, but never have I seen a logo that destroys the look of the pipe.

I eyeball displayed pipes. If one catches my eye, I chick the fist fit, workmanship, etc. Only after it passes the fit and eye test will I shell out the money and take it home to test how it smokes. Logo? Never a concern. I will say, the "white Dot" on a Dunhill is a wee bit ostentatious. Alfred did well though, fully understanding how to market to upper crust.

If I am not mistaken, the white dot on the Dunhill stem was originally not intended to be a logo. It simply meant "This side up.". puffy

I haven’t passed on a pipe (yet) because of the logo—I’ve come close because there was double stamping, but, even then, the rarity of the pipe shape and grain won out. I recently acquired a French skull pipe that had the stamping go across the briar shank and the stem—oddly enough, I found it appealing because I hadn’t seen that before.

Let’s see where this goes.
Sideways, then straight into a ditch in all likelihood, lol.

Personally I think the logo is the only important part of any pipe. I don’t care how it looks or smokes or quality drilling whatsoever. Give me a cool logo and I’m happy. ?

But seriously, I have one particular no name basket pipe, absolutely no markings, stamps or logos of any sort, that has been a favorite for years. Wouldn’t care if it did or what the logo was because the overall look, heft and feel are appealing to me and having smoked it a few times I realized it was one of the better smoking pipes I’ve ever owned.
