lifeon2, I suspect that seller also religiously buys Powerball tickets, and not because part of the proceeds go to education.

On a different note, I just noticed that the draft hole on the English Kaywoodie is upside down. Do you fine folks think it came that way from the factory?

Found out some more on the Yello Bole line I was discussing in an earlier post. After some more digging, I found out that the Imperial line was Yello Bole's mid range line. In the mid 1940's they sold for $1.50. The Standard line was the low end, selling for $1.00, and the Premier was the high end selling for $2.50. The Imperial had a smaller sized "o" logo than the Standard. The "propeller" was the logo of the Premier line.

And here is why you don't end a pipe auction on a holiday.....

I usually make an effort to check ending auctions on holidays, but I was asleep at the wheel on this one...

I would think so, but ssjones has pointed out some worrying trends in kapster's eBay auctions. Still, a Heritage Straight Grain set should fetch a fine price.

Mkts always surprise. Yes, everyone go after the Heritages while the real high grades (Centennials 95er's Connoisseurs) stay under the radar.

I haven't really been looking for Kaywoodies lately. But I stumbled across a meerschaum on eBay that apparently nobody else wanted. I watched it all week and there were no bids so I put one in. I won. It's a chunky dimpled apple with a short nylon stem and a 4-hole stinger. Plainly a 50s pipe. Nice balance and a good smoke.

Very nice xrundog. I picked up a full bent meer the other day the same way, the seller had listed it as a white briar and no one bid on it so I bid the first bid and won it. :)

Common sense returns to eBay, or someone got a great deal!
