A release date has not been set yet, but here's my review.

The fermented, ten year old stoved red Virginias provide a big burst of tangy ripe stewed dark fruit, earth, wood, bread, vegetation, sugar, plenty of tart and tangy citrus, some grass, floralness, a couple of pinches of spice, mild sour vinegar, and slight acidic, smoky notes. In an abundant, opulent support role is the earthy, woody, stewed, sugary fruity (raisins, dates, figs, and plums), moderately spicy, year 2003 fermented perique. The strength, nic-hit and taste levels are medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness, though there are a few small rough edges. Your personal preference will determine whether or not these easily broken apart, moist flakes need any dry time. I did not dry them. Well balanced with some nuanced complexity, it burns clean, cool, and slow with a very consistent tangy sweet, spicy, lightly floral, deeply rich flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is a tad stronger. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires some relights. It’s not an all day smoke, but it’s certainly repeatable. Four stars out of four.

Can you compare it to last years version?

Thanks Jim for the review. I have been looking forward for a year to this 2020 release. I absolutely loved last years version and, as a result, began to explore other blends in the genre that are also great, most notably for me, sutliff crumble Kake red virginia, sutliff 515 RC and Wessex Brigade original. I am a little disappointed to hear that this blend is a Vaper and not a vintage Red Virginia (with or without a topping). I don't love perique and thought Sutliff was going to try to fill the space formerly occupied by Christmas Cheer. Well, i am sure that it will be very good anyway...

Thanks Jim. I’m saving the last of my 2020 TAD budget for this one, hopefully I can get 4-5 tins before it’s gone. It sounds delicious.

Well, unless there is a Germain shipment that I can actually take advantage of and get my grubby mitts on some hard-to-finds. Mortgage payment be damned! I missed the last few drops!
