I went a bit overboard with mine over the years but good news is all of my tobacco is matured, bad news is, it would take about three life times to smoke through my collection. I think this is pretty darn good problem to have though so no frowning over here.
You could always share? Just saying. Those of us just starting to store away for a rainy day need help acquiring.

I do share mon frére. I share quite a bit actually. Usually with people I know but I’ll send some off to a stranger from time to time. Sharing adds enjoyment to our hobby (or whatever you’d like to call this thing we do).

I see you’ve been a member since 2012, I’d say you’ve had plenty of time to store away for a rainy day and our time has not yet run out.

I have been on here that long, but not dedicated to the briar fully. Not till my wife recently put the breaks on my cig habit and said it would be ok to get back into my pipe habit. Heck she paid for my first pound to get me off the nails.

Plus I was not aware of many of the changes in the pipe smoking industry while I was away. Never would have moved to Washington state if I had known the restrictions on online tobacco purchases.

Partly why I started the box pass back up. When the box gets back to me there will be many blends I cant get through my B&M.

Oh you live in Washington? Poor guy! It’s beautiful in the Pacific Northwest but I made it out of there just in time.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think I can even send you tobacco (by law) in the post. Can I?

I have received from many guys on here. Using mylar bags eliminates the sweet smell most of the time. One guy also masked the smell with loose coffee grounds in the box, smart.

That’s a crying shame we have to risk breaking the law just to share pipe tobacco in some states. I know the local shops charge a premium for tobacco there.

A tin of Escudo goes for about $65. About bit the stem off my pipe when I saw that.

Gas is around $3 per gallon. Drive to a decent B&M in another state and spend a bunch. Rent a mailbox in the nearest City across the border. Place a huge order, go get it. Book a one day round trip to wherever smoking pipes is, take two large empty suitcases, fill them up.

I could live in Outer Mongolia and if I wanted something badly enough, I'd figure out a way to get it.

This stands true in most cases. Where there is a will, there is a way.

And Washington used to be such a great state to live in... I lived there from 1972 to 1978. That was back when the majority of people didn't want the government telling them how to live.

Forgot to add, I have about 14 lbs. of tobacco stashed in my office. Lately I've been averaging about 10 bowls a week, so maybe 60 grams of tobacco a month is getting smoked. My problem is that I usually buy two tins of tobacco per month, so my "collection" keeps growing. I just found a tin of Penzance from 2015.

UPDATE: Since I was bored and the wife was busy elsewhere, I decided to conduct an inventory of my pipe tobacco. I have been slacking off and smoking more than I thought. I am down to 9.3478 lbs. of tobacco. That gives me roughly 6 years worth of pipe smoking IF I don't buy anymore tobacco. I won't run out until my 73rd birthday.
