Absolutely not, and with the prices of tins in Canada I won't be buying my way there soon. I do grow though, so I'll probably end up with quite a bit at some point. But I already find my 20 or so jars of leftover bought tins to be too much to keep track of.

I'd love to be the guy with a pound or two of some simple smoke and not have to organize a bunch of blends in jars, but my tastes like to explore. Anyway I don't plan on smoking much besides whole leaf purchases or home grown in the future. So when my stash runs out, things should get simpler.

I probably have enough for about a year , but I want to grow some so that I can fill the barn. Not really fill it ,but maybe put 20-30 lbs away on my first grow if everything works out. I really like that whole leaf , it's nice to make your own blends.

To be blunt, I've always wondered why anyone would continue to stockpile tobacco after they've accumulated a "lifetime's" worth.
Because they're thinking of future generations.

Think of the kiddies people. They'll be grown before you know it [And do you really want them digging into your limited stash when they do? ]

Over 20 years ago I was told by my doctors "100% of Buergers patients die within 2-3 years after diagnosis." So basically I'm living on borrowed time anyway.
I'll have to do a proper inventory but I think that I've got 35lbs cellared. I'm also growing tobacco each year to supplement my stash in the event that I outlive my stash.

It would be nice to leave my son a reasonable stash of tobacco should he ever show interest in smoking any of my pipes.

I'd much prefer to leave a cupboard full of tobacco than to run out in my later years. Now that would really piss me off; I'd become the quintessential grumpy old bastard.
I can so picture the home care professionals telling me "We have nicotine replacement Mr Chopper"
Me; "I don't need nicotine you brainless maggot, I need me some baccy!"

Guys who grow their own say that homegrown is far superior to commercial blends.
Many of them say that the difference is night and day.

If you ever have questions re; growing, harvesting, curing etc., go to www.fairtradetobacco.com forum.
The experienced members and staff are very helpful.

I went a bit overboard with mine over the years but good news is all of my tobacco is matured, bad news is, it would take about three life times to smoke through my collection. I think this is pretty darn good problem to have though so no frowning over here.
