The sister thread has an offer you might be interested in.This thread is not delivering on its apparent promise.

Didn't you know? It's a Dunhill, it's only good use is being a planter...
If that can happen to a Dunhill it could happen to anyone. I always thought they were the best, now not so sure.Didn't you know? It's a Dunhill, it's only good use is being a planter...![]()
I was just referring something that a forum member did on every Dunhill thread for a while. If that can happen to a Dunhill it could happen to anyone. I always thought they were the best, now not so sure.

Actually helps a lot! Thank you.I don't know if this info will help the OP or not, but I have an old Stanwell with the same kind of crack, but probably a little worse as it crosses the top to the outside of the bowl. It was there when I got the pipe as an estate about 6 years ago, and after smoking it fairly regularly since, it has not gotten any worse. I originally thought about doing something about it but took a wait and see attitude, but it never got worse so I just left it alone. Still smokes fine, but I don't know if that will give you much consolation.

Not that simple. This is the holy grail of pipes to me. Watching Rathbone smoke his on the movies is what got me into pipe smoking to begin with. :-/This crack will bother you forever. Every time you smoke the pipe you will check to see if it has changed. Even when you go to bed, you will be thinking about it and the fact that your pipe is somehow less.
Throw it away and be done with the misery.
I’d take the second crack any day of the weekView attachment 432435
To paraphrase Mr. Dundee, "That's not a crack..."
"This is a crack!"
