I think the buyer did pretty well at $355

Anyhow, I digress from this stunning pipe! Finish is truly Natural, not sure I've ever actually seen many Natural finish like this on a Sasieni as it appears to not have any stain with the grain showing remarkable depth displaying swirling birdseye and fine cross!

They are not making any meers at this time. They were only made for a short period in the Sherlock line.

We could argue all day about the effects of shill bidding - the goals, the success, etc. I look at the bid history of various sellers, and it's obvious what's going on with some of them. Obviously it doesn't always 'appear' to work, but overall it is certainly successful. It's also illegal, not just according to ebay rules, but Federal law.

Not content with the odd basket pipe, some Nigerian Scam-grade "counterfeiter" decided to swing for a home run.

Since sets almost always sell for more than the total of their components sold individually, it looks like this guy is a budding criminal mastermind.

That someone actually bought it isn't surprising, either. Such sets are often bought as gifts by people who only know what brand name their friend/loved one likes.

Pipes described as “well cared for” last I checked snapped in half and superglued back together does not constitute “well cared for”. Not not mention they are obviously fake…

Right off the bat - those "gold bands" are a bit fishy.
Close inspection of the date stamps (the ones that are visible anyway) show different dates.

Just a.. highly questionable item.
