At least 1 dunny bowl. The top right one looks like it could be a college pipe.

One of these guys took your pipe. Personally I suspect the guy with white hair; he looks pretty shifty.

USD$70 each for a lot of tins a percentage of which will almost certainly have failed seals. And I would surmise that the buyer was willing to go much, much higher. I have two tins of this stuff around here somewhere, it's actually quite good.
Lucky man! I'd love to try some one day.Count me among them! The smell coming from this tin is absolutely divine!

I remember that ad from when I was a kid, the old chap is a great character actor and was in a lot of old British movies. Great to see it again.Lucky man! I'd love to try some one day.
A great character actor indeed. Ballard Berkeley, probably best remembered as Major Gowan on Fawlty Towers.I remember that ad from when I was a kid, the old chap is a great character actor and was in a lot of old British movies. Great to see it again.
H for Harrods ? L for ?I wanted those. Not to smoke but to assess the nomenclature. I hope someone here won them to post better pics.
My earliest pipes with the H.L stamp is a 1917 Orlik antique bruyere.
I had wondered by the style of the pipes whether these were Orlik too - not that I have seen a special grain stamp on their pipes before
Yes I was bidding, but something has come up so I had to let them go.H for Harrods ? L for ?
H.L. Savory & Co. Ltd ?
Did you place a bid ?
Why not smoke them
That would take quite some time to find outThank you! Do you have any more from that era? It really helps seeing something from back then.
This is the stamping on my 1918 orliks - my other one from 1917 isn’t HL.
