This is easily the record for a 9BC shape (at least in my 11 years of watching that shape).
I suspect, as Deadman comments, this is the original stem. 9BC's seem to often not have a P on the stem.

I was watching that one but it didn't have a filter  and was about $825 over my budget ! ;):ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Yeah that was crazy. I was thinking for a while if I should place a $300 bid which would easily make it the most expensive pipe I'd own. I decided against it but it clearly would not have mattered. The winner was not willing to be denied that pipe, and I suspect even the second highest bidder thought the same about his bid.

Wow that is a lot for a Peterson pipe.

I know, I know it all :(
The seller and I discussed both sales. He offered the last lot to an antique dealer, who was not one bit interested.
He did not so much mind the previous GBP150,00 sale . I did and contemplated bidding on the now sold one.
Managed to contain my emotions though, not wishing to smoke them not a clue what to do with them
Eat your heart out.
Is that the one that was a buy it now on a Saturday? Lasted all of a minute?

Hi Jesse,
Yep. He offered the buy it now GBP150,00 lot for GBP100,00 to an antique dealer !!
" I had offered them to an antique dealer for 100 and he wouldn't take them saying he would never be able to sell them " Seller did not so much mind the BGP150,00, he was pleased for the buyer. Generous gent.
It sucks, I need to amend my queries lol.

It’s a nice looking pipe; but if I had 1K to blow on a pipe I’d have bought something else…

Like everything there is a yin-yang flux.

Sometimes Barling is the hot ticket, currently it’s Peterson.

...and for a change, I'm glad.

What a pity about that poor, abused stem. I now cleared out the bowl from ancient tobacco (!),
reamed it and it appears that the chamber is in next to perfect condition; no burned brar whatsoever and hardly any cake.
Gave the exterior a quick initial cleaning and a brief polish on the wheel; glorious shine and wonderful
chocolate/plum coloured briar.

Was this the repaired pipe, that was shown on page 116? I think it did quite well here:

and another Oom-Paul that did well.

Ref: 8 Dot, with repair. It is the same one, Al. I was commissioned to repair it and sell it by a good friend and fellow forum member. He did just fine ;)
