Thats a steal!
Thank you Al.
If it really was a steal and not a "honey trap" remains to be seen, but I feel reasonably comfortable with this one.
The very congenial seller ( who normally does not post abroad ) meanwhile sent an amended invoice including the shipping ; that was actually the most exciting part of the deal. Phew.
Having four knuckles I think it is a "mini churchwarden ".

This one is odd and intriquing , also made me feel wary.
Is it an all briar pipe with burns on the stem ?
Please share your expertise :)

Vegas Baby!!!
Normally burns on stems are from sharing ashtrays with cigarettes.

Good way to be. After all, you need to focus on the Island Boy versus Red Coat clay cutty challenge with the Clay King @halfdan .
@The Amish Tyrant It's going to be a tough challenge; I know @Ahi Ka probably has more experience of smoking a pipe than me; who do you think will win?
List of things I'm going to need:
1) My Redcoat
2) Cavalier hat or tricorn
3) Clay pipe
4) Tobacco
5) Lighter
6) pipe cleaners
Anything else I'm going to need???

Me neither…but I’m sure @Chasing Embers could.
@Ahi Ka @Chasing Embers @The Amish Tyrant I'd like to get a GIANT clay pipe, fill it up and see how long it takes to smoke:)
Back to the England VS New Zealand clay pipe smoking championships, I'm thinking of taking part next month. Need to get some twist; should I get a packet of St Bruno to practice with as well?
All I need to do is fill the pipe, light it, make a note of the start / end times and NO RELIGHTING:)!

That's close to an average size for me. About a three hour smoke.

@Chasing Embers A King Size clay for the Clay King:)
What would you recommend I smoke in it; I remember you suggested Old Dark Fired.
@Ahi Ka @The Amish Tyrant @simong Who do you think will win the England vs New Zealand smoke off???
It's not the winning that's important Dan, it's the taking part that counts.
The English rugby team always say that when they play the All Black's.

@simong Do you think I should get a packet of St Bruno to practice with or save the practicing until I get some more twist?
I was smoking GH Brown Twist when I went to see the Sealed Knot; I was thinking of getting another length for my big smoke off:)

You can practice with any tobacco you want Dan. It would make sense to use the twist though, if that's what you're using on the day. Practice lighting up with matches, they'll help.
