I added two Barlings to the pile.
The first is a Corporate Era Barling bearing a stamp I'd not yet seen before, Duostem. Well, it's not exactly a dual stem pipe, it's a pipe with a briar shank extension (otherwise known as a spliced shank). It's in fairly minty condition, having barely been smoked. The cleaning is going well.
The next one was very interesting, a 1920's or earlier Barling Meerschaum with amber stem that looks pretty clean. I paid a little more than I thought ideal, but only by $15. As is typical, a sniper using a bot fired off a bunch of bids in the last few seconds but ran out of time. If you're reading this, I want you to know that you missed out by less than a dollar. Tough noogies!

It did not go mean, but I like it an immense lot.
It is complete and will clean up nicely, there is no damage, only dirt and a nice thick layer of cake, that probably protected the chamber from burns.
Blue dots not faded .
George : is this what you consider "granite " grain ?
If so, we share the same preference.
Did freehand Peterson with amazing grain did quite well (unsmoked as well).

With my interest in Loewe pipes ever growing, I found these buttons on Ebay. Curious if anyone would what era they might be from, i.e. Haymarket/Civic, Cadogan? Looks like they were used for .22 practice at one time, but the box is still intact and full.

I have enough modern pipes, so my collection is now focused on pre-WW2 era pipes.
It is downright criminal what a buffer in the wrong hands can do to a historical pipe.
Currently on eBay there are pipes from every British manufacturer that have been abused by overbuffing, with the stem on and the stem off. There are wavy lines on almost every stem.
Anyway. Thank you. You’ve added to my knowledge and enjoyment.
