Run of the mill Comoy's aren't selling well these days, but this 50's era did well. The Old Bruyere line did continue into the 1970's.

PETERSON 1978 PATENT "HALLMARKED SILVER CAP & CHAIN" SYSTEM 20S ESTATE PIPE | eBay
The original was marketed as the "Hallmarked Silver Cap", and four years later when this 20S was made in 1978 they switched to "Silver Cap System". There were only two shapes, the 9S and 20S, two of Peterson's most iconic with the latter the more compact of the two and one of the most clenchable...

I stopped on that one after really studying the stem. Something seemed off about it.
I don’t disagree, I thought it was gonna go higher though.
I think Linwood was disappointed in this one. I'll hang onto mine, that's about $20 over the selling price. (Originally sold for $660 then got stiffed by the buyer)

Number 77 of 1100! (They were numbered of all POY produced, not by finish). The draft hole is centered at the bottom of the bowl. I don't have a scale to weigh this pipe, but I can attest that it is very light weight!

Always liked the little brazen nosed guys and made quite a study of the their origin etc.
Meanwhile there are four of them in one of my trunks.
The first one was a much older , pre 1930 ,Comoy's Special I purchased from Mordechai Ezrati's widow Karen, very similar to the Comoy's depicted here. They are largish.
It came along with a very rare antique one, made from clay, or meerschaum, not really sure.
Mine has a brass band, the insert is porcelain.
The other two are briar with a silver band. All three of them were once sold by Oxford and Cambridge tobacconist and luxury goods retailer Colin Lunn. The design of the pipe was registered 1904.
