Comoy's 800 series are halfway between a Group 6 and a magnum.

Quite rare, and this one was never smoked.

The routed finish is an acquited taste, but the cut & line of this pipe is outstanding.

Someone, somewhere, is smiling big time. $399 is a steal:

I tried bidding on that, but was below the minimum increment.

A couple interesting pipes went off yesterday:

I didn't try to confirm the sellers dating, but this blast is magnificent!

804 Comoy's always seem to hold their value.
Whoops, I see George already noticed this beauty.

Wonderful pipes, all three of them.
The Dunhill's Shell is a 1925 one. The know the seller; a true gentleman.
I placed my max. bid before retiring to bed, but it was to no avail .
Much interesting Old Britwood auctions lately.

Vegas Baby!!!
Another Pete goes for 1k+ 😮

I bid on that. My max was way way lower BECAUSE, that’s not and original stem and the stamping is actually not complete. Typically it would have a “0”. But that’s picky.

Yeah I was hoping you would bring this one to PM. Does the stamping say it’s from 1923?

Please stand me corrected if I am mistaken, but it seems to me the lady seller unknowingly sold a fake Dunhill.
Hope not to one of our forum members :(

Looks like one of the 1980’s fakes to me. Dot is all wrong and Bijou was a lighter not a pipe model.

From the same seller is this "ansmoked" set, that was sold for an insane price.
Winner did not pay ( watch the bidding history ) and the set is relisted.

Does he sell on consigment or are these pipes that he finds and then puts them on Ebay?

Looks legit to me.

(The oversize-looking dot is simply because the pipe is so small in proportion. It's a Grp 1)

PS --- the 1980's "fakes" are that in name only. They were made by Dunhill shop people using Dunhill materials on Dunhill machines... after hours, pocketed, and sold on the side for cash. There was a labor/pay dispute happening at the time, and it was their way to say FU to the bosses. Also, they were large sizes (because they fetched a higher price), had small-compared-to-the-stummel chambers (probably because of some sort of tool access situation), and the stamping was distinctive (meaning how it was laid out, not the stamps themselves). In short, a more accurate term for them would be "unauthorized" not "fake".

Hello George,
Thank you for sharing.
While we usually are on the same page and how deep I may bow to your better knowledge, I now beg to differ. I'm familiar with the 1980's Dunhill plant dispute and its consequences.. Without wishing to revisit the ancient discussion, I prefer "counterfeit" and to me a counterfeit pipe is not legit .
More important; this little pipe does not pretend a be an 1980's one, it pretends to be a patent one ( I forgot to mention this ) .
The seller posted me a bettter picture :
Dunhill Bijou pipe 01.jpg
There was also an article on Rebornpipes that included a Dunhiil Bijou pipe:
So counterfeit, unauthorized or fake, there is something fishy going on here :)

I put in a last second bid on this 8 Dot Ashford, but just missed.
