On its way to me ; showing all the odd characteristics of a family era Barling pot pipe.
Will clean up nicely ( I hope ) .

Nice! The thing I like about this one (besides it being family era) is it is over 6" long. It's on the larger size for a vintage Barling.

A pre 1957 Charatan Supreme billiard :
On my request the seller kindly posted a picture of the rim, showing considerable inner damage/deformation because of overzealous reaming, scratching etc. When I most politely enquired about his return policy ( according to Ebay he accepts returns ) he blocked me from bidding . Congratulated him on selling the pipe adding he is a wonderful person to work with.

Wow! Great looking pipe.
This is a similar one, carved in France . The carving and staining of the pipe Steve posted looks much better.
On this one the inlaid rondelle really stands out .
Not a genuine Charatan pipe to me, yuck.
Some years past Karen Ezrati sent me two Charatan countryman pipes with cumberland stems to assess and possibly buy from her husbands estate. They looked so poor in so many ways I returned them instantly.

Agreed... Hey, I am of French decent, but I don't want my Charatans carved there LOL.
