It is brutal with humidity+tobacco and getting that perfect balance of moisture just right in Summer months ( I tend to shift to lighter Vs and flake when above 85F + 80% humidity ).

There is nothing like waking up to -15F outside and enjoying a warm / smoking bowl of your favorite blends while trying to not have the stem freeze to lip - Always a great adventure in tobacco pipe smoking

I still drink hot black coffee on the porch while smoking my pipe when it's 90°+F and 50-80% RH. You get used to it. That's the weather 9 months of the year. It was 77° the other day, in January. Two or three months of the year regularly see the heat index over 110° and a few times will get to 120-125°.

If I let the miserably humid heat stop me, I'd only be active 2 months of the year.

Just wear cotton clothes, switch to more burleys, and put corn starch on your boo hole.

I smoke year round, although its harder for me to smoke in the winter months because I refuse to bundle up and sit out in the freezing cold weather to smoke. That's just enjoyable for me. I'm going to solve that problem this year by my garage remodel - building new work benches, shelves and hanging a gas heater from my ceiling so I can have a place to perch myself and smoke when the freezing weather arrives here.

Smoking in the hot summer months doesn't bother me though - I just gravitate towards bright Virginias and VaPers, whereas in the autumn/winter months I go more for dark fired burley and latakia.

I smoke pretty much equally year round. I might smoke slightly less latakia in the summer months but still smoke it when in the mountains camping or if the mood strikes. Temperature has never been much of a factor for if I smoke or not and it's not humid here.
