Not sure it's the universe, probably just his bank thinking it was an irregularity after looking at which pipes he does buy.
I've done many orders from Turkey but I don't use banks.
I have to go through a whole song and dance with my credit card company anytime I order from them. It’s a pain but it always ends up going through.
They have something called "3D security" on their payment processing. It's the only merchant I've ever used on-line that has that. It requires you to call your card issuer to allow the payment to go through.
I had to do that with each pipe I purchased from them up until the last couple of times I tried, and suddenly my CU said they were no longer able to "see" the transaction for some reason so there was nothing they could do on their end to facilitate it...so I gave up after that.
Anymore, unless I contact my bank ahead of time, any time I attempt to buy a pipe from anywhere outside of the US, my debit card gets frozen and order won't go through.
For overseas transactions, I call my CC company ahead of time and give them a heads-up. Never had an issue with ordering from Turkey. I will say that due to the arbitrary and capricious nature of customs, I have reduced the number of occasions that I order pipes or tobacco from overseas
Gotta be real hard to buy something from turkey, without using a....bank....
I've run into similar issues. I've found that PayPal goes right through, when credit cards won't.
Prepaid debit card. I only put enough money on it to cover intended purchases. Works well with Kenan, Yanik, and Oguz.
Now there's something I've never owned.
Paypal is sort of like a prepaid credit card, except it works where credit cards won't. Heck, you can probably set up one using your prepaid card. Or, if you are just dead set against it on principle, then maybe you should just stick to the pipe guys you already use. Each artist/business can use or not use whatever means they want. This one just might not be for you. But, have you tried communicating with them?
I'm curious though. If you don't use any sort of bank, then how do you get cash to convert to a prepaid card? Or, do you use a new card each time and pay cash to have put on it at the register?
When I was much younger, and didn't have any credit, but just hired by one of those huge companies, was completely embarrassed by this store clark. I'll skip the details. He said on the phone to their credit dept. "what do you mean he didn't pass? He works for ___ that's triple A!!! I can't refuse this sale!!!". And I was just buying a new tie. Had cash on hand too x)
Altinay does not accept PayPal either. Personally, I stopped using PayPal anyway, so makes no difference to me.
