How Much do You Keep on Hand?

Not counting collectables, one-offs, samples, things you have just to have, etc. - just your Smoke For Daily Bread Tabak - How many months/years of a back supply of your Daily Bread are you in possession of?

Currently, between my Daily Bread stash of: Prince Albert tubs, Edward G Robinson tubs, and Out-of-Production Smokers Pride Red Bags, now jarred, I'm good for about 1 1/2 years, total - that's it.

With all the nonsense surround tobacco in general these days, and consuming a half-ounce a day or one tub a month, on average, I'm feeling the need to double or triple that amount.

I’ve got decades because I don’t smoke much. If I did smoke a lot, I’d be like Hoosier and stock up appropriately. I also buy green coffee beans in 50 pound lots which last me for years.

The bunker is getting crowded.

I currently have 22.5 cans of Granger. Granger and I run deep. The rest... 2 tubs Carter Hall. 1 Tub LLRR. 1 Tub Prince Albert. Various Jars I put away some 10 years ago and a small assortment of aged tins. Oh, and thanks to a good forum friend, Shermnatman, I have about 50 measured samples to try.

About 20lbs. 15 or so tubs the rest in jars, I smoke about a tub a month so i am good for a while but I can always use more

I have about 50 lbs stored away, at last inventory. I don't smoke all that much, so I should (based on some rough calculations) be set for at least the nest 50 years. And before you laugh, I'm 27, so living another 50 years is a possibility.

I'm set for at least three life times. Probably a little overkill. At least I'll have what I want when I want it, and it will be all well aged when I smoke it.

If you just keep buying more than you smoke eventually you end up with years and years of tobacco stored away. I've definitely slowed down on my tobacco purchases in the past year since I estimate that I have 20+ years of tobacco in the cellar already. I'd like to eventually grow my own tobacco as well but that's at least a few years down the road.

I bought enough for a 20-25 year supply and I smoke around 11-13 pounds a year. I am 63 and my program I developed is telling me that on the day I die I will have only one tin left. I know I am a genius, you may grovel at my feet if you feel the need.

Unless I suddenly become immortal, I have enough quantity to last until sliding into bliss eternal. But having variety is the problem. What if there exists a tobacco I don't already have? It gnaws at the soul.

After chasing that idea for a few decades I've found myself mainly smoking only two blends. Blends in the same genre just aren't different enough for me to fret over another one.

My little stash is good for decades at the rate I smoke. For the all-day smokers on Forums, it wouldn't go six months.

I have about a 4 year supply of my favorites at my current pace. I just keep plugging away at it. I would love to have 200 lbs tucked away and not have to worry about it. I think my wife would notice that credit card statement in a hurry though.
