How much tobacco do you keep around, put away to cellar?
There's a level of insanity involved with most of it. You're betting on living to a ripe old age with a bunch of choices still around when you fall off the twig.I really did not know what to expect but the hundreds of pounds both surprises and inspires me. A man needs goals.
Home grown twists, that is impressive. Family grew small amount of "baccor" in Western NC when I was growing up. Believe they mostly chewed itThe nice thing about having “too much” is that if I want to show up to a pipe club or gathering, I can toss out some tins that I’ve grown cold towards and enjoy seeing folks get all happy. Or, share a bunch of burley twists that I grew, and show off a tad.
I will still have enough left over to fuel my pyre when the day comes.

Ironically, I grew the burley in Western NC, just outside Hot Springs. We spent a summer in our cabin there and I befriended a tobacco farmer, and learned what I could about burley. It was a lot if fun, hard work, but I have no plans to grow anymore… but, I’ve said that before, ha ha.Home grown twists, that is impressive.
