Honest Question: Why do we Care what a Smoker calls Himself?

Okay, I wasn’t really in the know on the definition and use of the word, Lunt.

Although this thread took some odd turns along the way, I rather enjoyed the banter and laughed out loud several times.
Regardless of the moniker people may employ to refer to me smoking a pipe, I’ll just node and smile while I return to enjoying a relaxing Lunt!!?

Pipe smoker is clumsy. Piper brings up images of hale bearded fellows wearing skirts and leaving their jewels exposed to freeze and fall off in the cold. Pipester is a bit close to hipster.

In short, they're equally sucky, so I just accept them all to the same mixed extent.

Lunting is the best. I am about to go do it now.

yeah it's pretty much everyone. No one wants to accept that fact, but that doesn't change that it's how it is.

I like to consider myself an aficionado of all things anachronistic and old timey vs a hipster. There’s nothing wrong with a moustache or a tweed coat, there’s nothing wrong with canning tomato’s or reading an actual book. Now if one starts riding a fixie bike and doing things for irony and looking down on people because the band they like has more than 10 people who listen to them, THEN you have crossed the line into hipster. It's a lot easier and more accurate than "piper" "smoker" or even the unwieldy "pipe smoker."
