Many thanks for the advice and welcome. My Dad says it’s unladylike pipe hanging out my mouth lol .. I’ve never cared what others think to be honest …. I enjoy it
pipes are great.Hi all,
I’m Ally from Scotland (female) and bought my 1st pipe about a month ago. Just a wee cheap one off Amazon to try it. Stopped smoking cigarettes 7 and a half years ago … just fancied a pipe and love it! I like fruity tobacco, but am struggling at moment with new filters I just bought. Can hardly light my pipe with these new filters
No reason at all why women shouldn't smoke pipes. They did in the past. Everyone did. Cigarettes were for the well off. And pipes don't stain your fingers (unless you use your finger as a tamper).Hi…
Tag is for the advice… I will try without
ooh next time I’m in town I will go to tobacconists and give them a try …. Have ditched the filter …. Much nicer puff …. Ahhh … will look for a better pipe too … Amazon cheapy doing me fine just now …. Thanks for all the advice … lol love the Sassanach shire I’m technically half Sassanach as my Dad was born in Lincolnshire … a wee place called Dona nook ….. vaping still at work … my take the pipe with me tomorrow … as my workmates cannot believe I’m smoking a pipe

Damn.. There's a couple of pipes in that cabinet i wouldn't mind a look at. Bit of a jaunt from where I live. Maybe in the spring it will be a good excuse to ride my bike over to Aberdeen.Hi Ally,
Welcome to the forum from Tennessee. I'm David, formerly of Aberdeenshire, where my wife and I raised our kids. The old Herbert Love tobacconist is just down the street from St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral. I think both the Pipe Shop of Leith and Robert Gordon's in Edinburgh will ship to you as well as the usual UK online shops. I do miss our family's frequent trips into the Granite City.

Only problem with woman smoking is the wife now knows how much you really spend on smokingNo reason at all why women shouldn't smoke pipes. They did in the past. Everyone did. Cigarettes were for the well off. And pipes don't stain your fingers (unless you use your finger as a tamper).
I get a few double takes when I smoke mine in public. It's just curiosity because pipes smokers are rare these days. But it's invariably friendly curiosity and often proves to be a conversation starter. I get frequent nods or smiles when people see me puffing my pipe in my van as I drive along the street. And you'll find people don't avoid you when you're smoking, as they do with cigarette smokers and vapers, because almost everyone loves the smell of a pipe.
If you're going to smoke at work though, you may need to invest in a small pipe for that purpose. Otherwise your smoke breaks will be three times as long as everyone else's..

Kincardine O'Neil, between Banchory and Aboyne. We'd come into town most weekends for Marks & Spencer, Union Square, and frequent fish and chips at the Ashvale! What part of the city is home for you?Hi David
Where about in The Shire were you from?
I will be for sure checking the tobacconist out! Aye. The Granite City has fair changed, same as everywhere though.
Tennesse must be amazing …
