I'll say for me CD burley flake #2 fits the bill. I have one tin left of the HH just about 2 years old that I'll open up in a year or two.
Per Georg blending burley filled the void for me. I smoke it daily straight. I smoke it over hiking as a daily go to blend. Save my 148 tins of hiking for when times are tough. What's the scoop, @KingPiper? How does Amphora burley rank?
I thought I was nuts for having 5 tins of Hiking taking up room in my closet. Savor those 148 for me, bruv!Per Georg blending burley filled the void for me. I smoke it daily straight. I smoke it over hiking as a daily go to blend. Save my 148 tins of hiking for when times are tough.
indeed ,a Very close match, a bit harsher thoughWhat's the scoop, @KingPiper? How does Amphora burley rank?
It is okay. It’s like decaf HH Burley lol. It is similar but theres just not much there. I don’t regret buying it and I will definitely smoke it but doesn’t fill the void. Not even close. What's the scoop, @KingPiper? How does Amphora burley rank?
Well….. thoughts? It is okay. It’s like decaf HH Burley lol. It is similar but theres just not much there. I don’t regret buying it and I will definitely smoke it but doesn’t fill the void. Not even close.
I have been mixing it with five brothers and it is satisfying that way. I am about to blend some DFK with it next smoke. The dfk in the blend is undetectable to me.
My Per Georg Burley just arrived and I am really excited about trying it out.
Wow was my first thought. Love at first bowl but I wanted to get a few more bowls in before putting it to words.Well….. thoughts?
I give it almost as high as hiking. Hiking still has the upper hand with the toppings. But I give it higher that HH.Wow was my first thought. Love at first bowl but I wanted to get a few more bowls in before putting it to words.
Its incredible, I taste no topping in the smoke, tin note is amazing and reminds me of hiking a bit. Burns smooth and evenly, cut is amazing and very easy to rub out, moisture content is nice and doesn’t require too long to dry. Taste like oats and almonds.
You will probably disagree with this next statement but… better than hiking. Time will tell if it beats out hh b for me but this is easily my number 2 blend. Very happy I got a few pounds of it. Also sad to see it go but hey, we’ll all go one day too so its not important enough to be upset over.
Good find on this one brother. I will enjoy this one for as long as I can.
It’s all goneI think all the per George Jensen Burley is sold out!
Happy to have gotten a few pounds.
I missed this comment when you made it. I believe I will be giving some of their blends a try soon. I have heard a lot about them recently.Do any of the Peretti burleys fit the bill? 111, 333, BPC? I have not tried these but will be placing an order soon.
I remember reading that a customer who asked was told they would be largely unaffected (maybe the flakes?) but the best thing to so would be to contact them directly. I don’t remember which forum thread I read that in so can’t point you to it.Wondering if their blends will be affected by the sutliff closure.
I have not heard of this one yet. I have a few tins of Louisiana Broken and Night Owl that I haven’t gotten to yet. I have heard lots of good things about HU tobacco.HU Dockworker?
Dockworker is great. More like super great.I have not heard of this one yet. I have a few tins of Louisiana Broken and Night Owl that I haven’t gotten to yet. I have heard lots of good things about HU tobacco.
