I missed this comment when you made it. I believe I will be giving some of their blends a try soon. I have heard a lot about them recently.

Is this a just a blending house or do they process tobacco? Wondering if their blends will be affected by the sutliff closure.
WCC did rely on Sutliff, so yes, a lot of their blends will be discontinued. But their website says they'll be releasing new blends, so hopefully Ernie Q. can work his magic on the new supplies!

Ernie was pretty clear that if something changes significantly he will discontinue the blend. He’s working on new blends but will also reconfigure the old ones that relied on Sutliff but they would be released under a different name. I think he said they’re getting their own press. Should be exciting things coming from WCC and they seem excited to work on the new stuff.

Dockworker is great. More like super great.
I don’t think it’s available in US. You can grab a in on Tinbids for 40$ or so.
Well thats just un-American. If I were to pay 40 a tin I would probably try one of those Seattle pipe club blends that i will probably never buy.

What’s everyone’s take on John Cotton’s double-pressed burley?

I haven’t tried, but I was interested in getting feedback from others.

Have not read the whole thread so I might come late to the party...

If I memorize correctly from the 1 50 gram tin I had, HHBF is more a chocolately blend, I thought of it higher than ABF which to me had to be bone dry to truly enjoy. I second HU Dockworker as a nice burley blend, but to me they are totally different with the oriental spice and florality I get from it. Nevertheless a very good blend, but not a substitution if you look for a HHBF "match", personally I would smoke Dockworker above any other Burley.
