I want the whole thing. I especially like the castle on the small tin with the moon behind it. I think my tattooist can do something good with that image, so I PM'd Russ for a high quality image. I'm thinking the castle with Black House in the gothic script should be enough, but I will run the final idea by Russ before it goes on. Obviously, putting an image on a tin and on skin will require some differences in detail, but it will very clearly be the tin art and any pipe smoker will recognize it.

Dude this is Bad Ass! I also really like your Greenman tat I had a Greenman drawn up for my backpiece but the leaves extended into Celtic knots. Some day when I get the funds I'll finish my backpiece. I'm stoked to see the outcome of this new ink. :puffy:

My greenman is a painting that he reproduced onto my skin. About time I go in anyway, It needs a touch-up. Looking at that old pic makes me realize how much it's faded!

Tell her that getting the tattoo will save you on tobacco expenses in the long run. See if she buys it
That is actually exactly what I did. She's a purchaser by trade so she understands dollars. The conversation went something like, "I'm going to get another tattoo."

"Where?"

"My chest." (She looked relieved. Noticed she asked where, not what! Where did she think I would get it?)

"Of what?"

"The tin art of my favorite tobacco." She looked puzzled and then I explained Russ' challenge.

"You should definitely do it then."

There's a little difference but I stuff everything into mason jars anyway so it all works out about the same for me. For a guy like me who smokes it often, the bulk is good for every day and the tins are better if you want to cellar it. I'm assuming for the tattoo challenge, Russ is offering the value in bulk, not tins, which is fine for me. I have plenty of jars and I get more of my favorite weed that way.

I just stumbled on this. Will have to try Black House on the next order from P&C even though I hesitate to order from them anymore since their shipping rates to Alaska have gone up somehow ....
baron as for "bleeding black", I dug up in my Latin memory box .... your motto is correct in Latinglish, but since Latin uses a different phrase structure, the correct way of saying "I have black blood" is "habeo ater sanguis". Of course, if you want to be poetic, this is a better motto IMO : "ater sanguis currit per venas" which means "the black blood courses through my veins" :puffy:

Maybe you have a better phrasing for simply, "I Bleed Black", which may be an erroneous phrase in actual Latin. I would like to know, though.

Just got some artwork and a basic design for the tattoo from Russ. It will basically be the castle with the moon behind it and the words "Black House" in the Gothic script.
Next stage is to work on an inkable design for my skin and run it by Russ O. to be approved. I'm confident that my guy will do it justice. Hell, before it's over, what's on my skin may end up being the tin art it will be so cool!
Russ and I have shot a few emails back and forth and he's a cool guy. He hasn't come out and called me crazy, but he really thinks the Blackbloods are cool (see, we ARE the cool kids!) and was surprised I took his offer.

I tried Black House at the 2012 West Coast Pipe Show and loved it and looking forward to purchasing this tobacco for everyday use. I got a sample and brought it home to Canada with me to be the first smoke in my PM2012 Storient Meerschaum Cherrywood pipe with a blue swirl stem when I receive it, likely around Christmas.

My tattooist stays pretty busy and haven't been able to get him on the phone. He also doesn't use email or a web page so I'm going to run out there one afternoon. I haven't been able to make it out there in person yet because his hours are during the time I'm at work.
It usually takes a couple visits before he will actually do the ink. You tell him what you want, give him any artwork you have and he works it up in a way that will have good color and work for where you plan to put it. Then you come back and if you both like it, then he does the work.
He works a lot like an old-school graphic artist and applies it to the science of tattooing.

Sounds like a good guy to have work on you. Looking forward to the final product...and a pic of the sack of tobacco you will receive, lol!
PS - I think of King Diamond every time I see your name.

All this talk of Black House, and I was finally able to order some last night. I love English blends, so I can't wait to try BH.
