Very hard... but I would have to say while smoking or driving my favourite music is Pink Floyd, preferably the David Gilmore stuff from later on, where as the earlier stuff is fantastic when I'm doing other stuff. I'm going to have to say my favourite song (right now) is Deadman's Gun by Ashtar Command.

This is a tough one - but if I had to choose an all favorite time, it would probably be this (mainly because I never grow tired of it)
watch

It is almost a 'classic', but a veeeeeeeeeeeeeery difficult question!

However, I think that, if I had to choose a single song...

Based on the melody that moves me...

The lyrics that bear meaning with 'gravity'...

The authenticity and stance of the One that interpreted it...

Well...

It would be 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra!
For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught.

To say the things he truly feels;

And not the words of one who kneels.

The record shows I took the blows -

And did it my way!

Good one!

Even Trent Reznor himself respects it!

It is as though Johnny Cash took this song, and made it his own, as with most covers in the American Recordings :!:

So impossible to answer. I am, however, enjoying listening to everyone's nomination for favourite song. I'm a sucker for a music post of any sort.

i got two ideas - first i think i will start a new thread if one is not found -
what would sherlock do ?
second idea is what might he do in your situation ?
while puffing away on his pipe - he might let it rest on a ouija board pointer and think about it really hard ...
eh - i'll let someone else start it - my pipe is not telling me what to start it with right now

As a musician, totally impossible question, but I'll add a vote for my favourite band and say The Long and Winding Road, by a little group called the Beatles. The melody and Sir McCartney's bass line are two completely different songs, but somehow pair together beautifully like Bombadil and Goldberry setting the table for the hobbits.
Because we get two, I'll put up one you probably haven't heard: Gabriel by Lamb. Haunting, beautiful melody, profoundly sad, perfectly restrained keyboards, and drummers will like the sweet percussion. It's pretty hard to play, but will show you why real drums are better than electronic drums.
Gabriel by Lamb

Nope, I did not catch it yet, I was all emotional when I posted it. Zep and the beatles are my faves. I was juggling Abby Road and Physical Graffiti but Physical Graffiti got me through one of my all time lows... I'm going to check the acceptance thread now Ed!!!
