Just got a second GSD. Had him for three weeks now, this is the little guy (Tex) at 6 weeks when he came home; and his big brother Indy (who’s a year old, 98lbs, and came from the same Dam and Sire) Tex is growing like a weed, much faster than Indy, even though I avoid high protein diets. I like the low and slow method to help them avoid pano and similar ailments.222F9CEC-BA4A-4925-B719-59B1AF3BEA4F.jpeg

This was my smoking buddy Remi. Best dog I've ever had out of many in my life. Had to have him put down in January 2021 from cancer, he was 12 years old.
And my Current dog Jovie, who is running a close 2nd at a year old this month and she loves to smell my beard after I've smoked a pipe.View attachment 130448View attachment 130449B16B9421-A564-4D8C-9788-6D2E6F16C2C2.jpeg
Ahhhh! Another Rat Terrier lover. Great with children, always happy and great smoking companions. My dog Trudi.

Ratty's are great Dogs Brother! the dog in the first picture ,Remi (RIP) was a JackRat , however , Jovie is a toy fox terrier. All of them are derived from the same lines though. Really hard to tell them apart sometimes. I doubt that I will ever own a different breed again.I do like just about all breeds of dogs, but these terriers just seem to fit our lifestyle these days.
Trudi is a great looking girl Brother /G\

Thank you. Trudi was my 50th Birthday present from the misses. I had previously lost my first Rattie to old age. Both of your dogs are quite handsome and have that Terrier mischievous look.

My avatar is my beloved english bulldog Clarence, named after the angel in the movie its a wonderful life. I miss him every single day. Last night I dreamed that my wife and I had a home in Austria which was near a big lake. He could jump into the water a swim like a fish and children and adults came in boats to say hello to him. Woke up with a smile and then a pang of melancholy. Loved walking with him and smoking a pipe. It is strange, isn't it how one dog's life can touch so many others...
My beautiful old Rotti boy often visits me in the astral when I'm sleeping.
It's how they tell us that they're happy and will be waiting to reunite with us when it's our time to cross the veil to the other side.

Hector enjoying a spot in the sun early one morning. Often he'll ignore one of his three "beds" and just hit the boards.

As I now live alone, he goes with me everywhere, and waits patiently in the car when I have to go get groceries.

Favorite activity is golfing! Runs along side the cart most of the time, and also loves riding in the cart. He's eight, and was a year old when he was adopted in Davis, CA. He was abandoned in the nut orchards near Chico, and does not appear to have been abused, for which I am so grateful. A sweeter mostly-Lab I have never known. Not aggressive, but will hold his own when need be.

Love Black Labs. They're a bit more protective then the Golden Labs.
They have quite similar natures to Rottweilers.

Here's Wooki. [GSD rescue pic]
z-wooki rescue pic head shot.jpg

He has one of the worst histories of abuse and neglect that I've personally encountered. GSD rescue saved him from death row.
He sent the first three peeps who viewed him for adoption to the A&E [ER] for stitches.

He'd been in their care for several months and they'd raised the subject of euthanasia.
Untrained and unsocialised he looked psychotic when I first took him into public, attempting to attack every passerby.

It took time and patience but he eventually learnt to tolerate the presence of strangers. [Just don't get too close uninvited]
It took nearly five months of weekly introduction before he greeted another human.
He's made friends with a dozen people since.

Wooki is a rather nice natured boy underneath the bluster.
He has not ever shown me any aggression, has been the easiest dog to train and is a fine companion.
He's also excellent security.

Here he is last year waiting for the signal to have at his first raw lambs head.
He's not sure what it is but knows it's going into his belly.
It took him around 4 hours to devour - he ate the lot, teeth and all.

Too many people don’t train their GSD’s. These dogs are DRIVEN to work and please. @ 7 weeks Tex was already house trained, knows sit, stay (Though only about 50% right now), come. And working towards off leash walking.
My Indy is a year old, and knows the difference between working at home as protection, and going on the street to just have fun. If I introduce you, it’s all good.
