Do You Have a Lakeland Pipe?

Do you only smoke Lakeland tobaccos in a specific pipe or pipes? I have taken the stories of difficult ghosts as admonishment, and decided to dedicate a pipe to the more perfumey Lakelands.

Blends such as FVF, in which I can detect no floral topping go in any pipe I regularly use for Virginias. But as I sit contemplating the bizarre flavour of this bowl of #7 Broken Flake in my sacrificial Charles Towne Cobbler, I do not regret having saved my briars until I decide if I actually like the stuff.



So what‘s the verdict? Lakelands seem popular these days, so I’m sure most of you have been confronted with this choice.

I smoke them in my meerschaum pipe and then rinse it out immediately afterwards. No ghosts so far.

Got a whole rack of nice briars that I smoke Lakeland blends with, although I’ve been known to smoke VA blends in those pipes as well because any ghosts are welcome.

I have several Lakeland dedicated pipes and occasionally I will smoke something in them that's not a Lakeland, just so it imparts a bit of that flavoring to make things more interesting.

Yes. I have two. One is a cheap estate briar that i use to smoke Glengarry Flake exclusively, and a cob for giving other lakelands a spin

I only smoke Ennerdale in one pipe. An old English billiard that was Lakeland ghosted anyway and as it’s a flavour I enjoy, why fight it.

I smoke St Bruno in my grandfathers meet purely because he did, so I guess I have two dedicated pipes.

do I want Lakeland in all my pipes? Probably not.

All 8 of my Peterson's are dedicated to lakelands plus a Loewes billiard,so 9 out of 35 are

I only smoke Lakelands in one of my four Peterson 'Frankenstein' pipes, but these pipes are not dedicated solely to Lakelands.

Maybe it depends on the specific blend? I smoke Coniston Plug in one of my Virginia pipes, and there's no issue with ghosting.

Have a reasonable stash of 1792. Problem is... can't find any Ennerdale. Haven't seen it in a long while, anywhere. Have one tin in my cellar.

I don't smoke any particularly strong Lakelands so I just smoke them in whatever I feel like.

I didn't think anyone considered 1792 a Lakeland, If that's the case I have one, a Jobey Freehand that I smoke 1792 in.

Ennerdale dropped in the big Gawith drop back in January. Only available on bulk, I think. Word on the street is that it will be available a little more frequently now that Gawith has a different distributor in the US.

Yes, I have one Briar and one Cobb I smoke Lakelands out of. The briar is for Ennerdale and blends with that sort of sauce, the briar is for stronger blends such as rum flake. The lighter dressed blends get smoked out of a va/VaPer pipe.

Which leads me to a follow up question: For those of you who have 4-5 Lakeland pipes, how do you divide those among the blends?

2 are for ennerdale
2 for 1792
2 for dark flake scented and 2 for every thing else including old Condor
