It’s a no for me dawg. Not gonna invest in a pound of some blend I’ve never tried before. Let alone it’s C&D who are masters of marketing. They have a few stand outs, but I can’t see such an investment when all they do is pump out the same blend with a slight tweak and re-lable.
Do you think the tobaccos used in Folklore supersede the marketing?

It's a crap shoot. So far, I have yet to be disappointed by a C&D smallbatch. But, I have missed out because of the freakin' feeding frenzie they create.
If someone is a very picky smoker that hates lots of things, or if someone has actually gotten a small batch that they disliked, then maybe set it out.

A lot of folks want to try smaller amounts. Maybe buy as syndicates and divide it into digestible chunks?
That's a great idea, but once you fall in love with the sample, you're not going to be able to find more. I would advise this for folks that just want to taste things, and not worried about ever being able to find more. YMMV

With this winter, my tobacco consumption has gone down dramatically. I hate cold weather starting this year. I remember loving cold mornings. So, I smoke pipe maybe once every other week when the front porch gets sun and outside temp is well above 60. My stashes are getting aged by unwanted, unintentional reason. So, I don't need or want a brick.

Interesting packaging. Sent me back to the pie packaging McDonald's used to use.

It might be a terrific blend, but I'm going to have to sit out on this small batch release.

I remember when the Pies had been "Deep Fried" in McD's Beef Fat Oil along with the Fries? (that's what gave it the Fantastic Smell and Flavor)...Now it's Baked Cardboard and the Fries suck.

I think they’re hype masters. And I don’t think the tobacco will live up to the expectations, at least not in my case. Jeremy hyped up eight state burley as super rare orientals and burley aged to perfection, but failed to mention any topping whatsoever. I was pissed when opened the tin and smelled vanilla. Gonna suck to cough up 80 dollars for a pound of tobacco if you don’t like it, it’s a cash grab in my opinion.

I thought Eight States Burley exceeded experience expectations, it certainly did mine. This whole deal seems simple to me. If you smoke a fair amount and like VaOr blends, seems like a must buy. If you smoke 1 bowl a week, likely a hard pass. if you liked previous C&D VaOr blends, probably a buy.

I would think if you're on the fence, buy. If you don't like it, you should be able to recover every cent plus some by breaking it up and selling it in small increments here. Personally, I'd rather lose $70 than lose out on something I may really enjoy.
