Why think less of Chinese made stuff, and then turn around and fill your house with Chinese stuff? Why, I'll bet ya good money everything you've bought in the last 15 years has been made in China.

China has already become the New Japan. If it uses electricity, it WILL be made in China or have a majority of Chinese components.
  • If your kids play with it, it's probably made in China.
  • If you drive it, It's got some Chinese components
  • If you prepare food with it, China
  • Etc. etc....
If it wasn't for China, our rate of inflation would be much further advanced in the global economy than it is today.

When I was a kid, I wanted so badly a particular bike with a sissy bar and 5 speeds. It was called the Spyder 500. That bike was $79.00! Mind you, this was in 1972.... Today you could buy the same (features and quality) bicycle for $79.00. The reason is because it is made in China. The inflation we have experienced in the U.S. is such that a 1 dollar purchase in 1972 would cost $6.23 today meaning that Spyder 500 should cost $492.17.

Do they make crap? Sure. So does Sweden and Germany. Do they make quality stuff? Just pick a room in your house and check out the manufacturers tags.... The answer is yes. That microwave you use to make your instant oatmeal would cost you 10+ times more if it wasn't made in China.

Am I happy about it? No!

Am I happy I can buy my kid a killer bike for $79.00 bucks? Hell yeah..

It's truly amazing that we put as much faith as we do into chinese products.. They dont give a damn about us, and there's very little regulation. Basically we trust chinese companies more than we do American companies.. they have less regulation. They got caught sending toys over with lead based paint.. shit, I bet my kid's toys are 99% chinese made. What an awful blind eye we've turned to them.. The chinese will just poison our kids, and send over fentanyl to overdose the teenagers.. while putting dad out of work and wrecking the value of grandmamma's small retirement account.

They also have reeducation camps for their "refugees".. just do some research in their Safe Cites program, that they sell, finance, and operate. Theyre doing business with the Philippines, and quite a few South American countries.

This aint politics either.. before the IBTL shit starts. If you try to protect them.. you are an accomplice.
I hope I didn’t sound “pro-Chinese” in trying to convey that almost all goods now are Chinese. I mean, I don’t hate Chinese people, but I am not for all US manufacturing going there. Craftsmans Tools were a staple with me. If it broke, they’d replace it, no questions asked. But, now, they are no different than run of the mill Black and Decker or Popular Mechanic brands, probably all produced in the same factory. Eyewear is the same. Top end glass frames and sunglasses are all made in the same exact factory, same exact materials. A $500 pair of sunglasses absolutely no different than a $20 pair.

My point was in trusting a pair of underwear over a novelty pipe. Heck, if their intentionally adding lead and asbestos to everything, why? Lead and asbestos aint cheap. You’re getting a bargain if you get a pipe full of lead for just $3, ha ha!

No sir, I didn't anything as pro Chinese.

That's all true.. But for the fact that underwear are pretty important. I buy Chinese products 365 days a year. I don't hate Chinese people either, but we shouldnt have to apologize for calling them on their shit.

It's true what you say about the lead and asbestos not being cost effective in ripping us off.. But if arsenic made a nice cheap wood stain, then that pipe might at least have traces of it.

It looks at tho it has a metal bowl insert. If so its most likely intended for smoking things other than tobacco. But I am still very interested in the outcome.
Last year I won a Chinese pipe for $1 on ebay.
It was advertised as handemade calabash. Six weeks later it arrived. I was so amused. The bowl has a metal inlay fixed with 4 srews to the bottom. Inside the stem is a gold colored stinger. A wonderful creation in hard plastic look.
