As I'm reading this, I am nearing the end of a bowl of pegasus , wishing that i would have bought more than a couple ounces of it. It is fantastic. Haunted bookshop and Bayou Morning have me intrigued...
Yeah Pegasus is my all time favorite blend. I go back and forth between that and SWR but considering the nic hit in Pegasus, it could be the only thing I ever smoke and I’d be content.

I'm not sure what genre of tobacco Charles III likes, but if he likes Virginias, absolutely.
It's one of two of my favorite Virginias.
@cosmicfolklore This one:
It was @The Amish Tyrant who came first referred to me as the Clay King and several forum members are using it now. I'll have to try some in my clay pipes. Last time we had a King Charles people wore wide brimmed hats and smoked clay pipes!

8lbs of Sutliff Frosty Mint.

For real though I'd just split it 50/50 with C&D Star of the East and Sutliff Victorian, plus some Gawith Hoggarth shag to adjust burning rate.

@frozenchurchwarden For me it would be Virginia / Cavendish blends as I'm not a fan of Latakia! I've been recommended C&D Virginia Flake & Yorktown, I especially like a nice Virginia in my clay pipe at living history re-enactments such as the Sealed Knot, Lace Wars or Redcoats & Revolutionaries. I was smoking Yorktown in my clay when the blacksmith lit it with an ember from his forge.

I used to spend $300 per month for the first 5 years or so.

Me/ I'd just get 5lbs of C&D Virginia Flake. That would be an awesome start.
But really, you should just buy what YOU like.

Kind of tangential to this thread, but if Opening Night were available in bulk (like, more than 8oz cans), would that be your top recommendation? I just bought a tin of ON to try out in my most recent order. Wondering if I should bother trying Virginia Flake too. Thanks!

They are entirely different. ON is a high quality tangy red, and VF is a very sweet blend of lighter VAs, with hints of oatmeal and a very, very slight orange or spice. It also has a deceptively significant nicotine level. I went a few years smoking it with my coffee in t5he morning. It has nicotine, but not so much that it puts me to sleep or make me drag. The flavors in VF tend to switch in and out, which keeps it very interesting, IMO.

Have a few of the 8oz ON, good to grab when they have the big 20% off sales, never tried their VF, might have to give it a try and add it to the other 20 different Virginia Flakes i have lol
