I just finished my first bowl of Warhorse. I was not sure this would be a blend I liked but did not want to miss a chance to give it a go when I had it in the house. Turns out I really enjoyed it! I might have to pick some one once it comes out. I thought I would get more of a nic hit from it so I went with a cob and did not pack it full. I need not have worried. I really enjoyed trying all the SToP blends. Bengal Slice was an easy favourite. The sweet/sour notes on the John Cottons were good. I probably got the least out of JC 1 & 2 but I have only had one bowl. I might have to pull out a second bowl of each one before I pack the box up.
The big loosers for me were Navigator which was too much for me and Esoterica Woodbridge that just confused me! I could not figure out the topping in that one and did not really like it. Considering I could not really taste the tobacco under it I will not be hunting down any of this for the cellar.

This box is coming at a good time. I was just about to put in my first order of the new year and have a 50g gap to fill! I'm expecting i'll discover something in this box to finish out that order! I'm liking the sound of these Bengal Slices, hopefully a Canadian-friendly retailer will have stock at the right time!

ltstone, welcome to the forum! I've only been on here about 7 months and hope to get in on the next box pass. I'm located in Red Deer, AB.

We'd be happy to have you! It's a great opportunity for new pipe smokers to try the whole gamut of pipe tobacco blends - it can save you a lot of money in the long run! I had a fair collection of aromatic pipe tobacco that I barely touched once I tried my first non-aromatic blend. Others may learn that they don't want to touch latakia with a 10 foot pole.

ltstone, as drezz said this is a great way to try before you buy and I am holding off any purchases until it makes it's way to me. I have a bunch of PAD purchases in my cellar to use up in the meantime. This is the first box pass I've been involved in and the anticipation is nearly killing me! The box is making it's way east and will get down to our area soon, I just hope the guys out west don't send any cold weather with it :mrgreen: I'm just to the west of you near Chatham.
sw0snuff3r, I will do my special rain dance for you to send snow your way. I would include pictures or even a video, but unfortunately the ritual must be performed while dancing slowly in my gaunch sneakers, chanting secret ancient words to the sled gods. If I were to post pictures of me performing the ritual it would cause instant blindness and insanity.
