What, like there's more than 800 of us pipesmokers in the US?That’s not exactly setting a high bar.

Given that this is an unknown blend, how do you determine who's who in this instance?Yup. The way of the world. When there’s winners, there’s losers.
As you suggested elsewhere, confirmation bias will ensure that everyone who managed to buy some will think it's the bee's knees. Others will fall in. That's seems to be true of all the other small batches; the opinions range from good to oh-my-god and very few are negative. As far as I can tell, the only thing that can bring this party to a halt is mold or some kind of packing snafu.Given that this is an unknown blend, how do you determine who's who in this instance?
Working men don't sleep. My last day off was Christmas Day then the 7/12 shift resumed.Good on him. It doesn't make any sense to release something in the dead of night, when working men are all asleep... except Chasingembers.

A moldy one.I can't even imagine what a bad pure tobacco blend would be.
Well, or course that. Or one that has a bunch of cat hair in it.A moldy one.
A Latakia blend I got about 30 years ago from a local shop... I think they added dried scrapings from the floor of a rendering plant. I asked the clerk for something with a little more strength to it. I got it.I can't even imagine what a bad pure tobacco blend would be.
And then there will be bitching about the bitching about the bitching. It really is a spectator sport.Oh, and no matter what it is that someone bitches about, someone is going to be bitching about the bitching. Haha!
Easy Peazy. I bought a lb, I'm a winner. Next question.Given that this is an unknown blend, how do you determine who's who in this instance?
I'd like to think I'm objective. I've made bad tobacco buys before. The majority of the small batches have been mostly good. I didn't hate XX Dark Flake but I didn't love it either. No big deal, I traded what I had here for some blends I do like.As you suggested elsewhere, confirmation bias will ensure that everyone who managed to buy some will think it's the bee's knees.
