Ash:
Thank you for weighing in with your professional assessment. I'd like to think the SW Missouri pros are as good as you and that they've done their job.
I do know the grandson was retrieved by his mother from the scene of the incident, arrested at his mother's house hours later, was caught up in a web of verbal missteps, and now is trying to get his 250K bond reduced.
A quarter million bucks is a lot of kale in South Central Missouri. I tapped into a Poplar Bluff community thread earlier this evening and the grandson is not highly regarded. Our friend died of smoke inhalation but it was also noted that he'd been hit on the head and that there was blood on his bed sheets. The grandson claimed that his grandfather was calling for help but the fire was so intense that all he could do was run off to the woods near the home. "I panicked. I didn't know what to do."
I'm so angry by everything I've read. This gentle man, who helped so many readers on this board with his knowledge and expertise, gave a turned out son/grandson a home in the hope of getting his life back together - and this is the result?
Again, I'm reading between the lines. The professionals need to kick this door shut.
