Any Other Biker/Riders?

The bug bit me when I was 7 years old. My Dad bought a motorcycle, a green Honda 360. I was hooked! When I was 20 and in the Army in Washington D.C., I couldn't afford two vehicles, so I sold my car and bought my first bike, a 1982 Harley Davidson Shovelhead Tour Glide Classic, the Daddy of the Road Glide. It was a fully dressed touring bike and I had never rode anything bigger than a moped before then. I rode that bike year round! I don't have any digital photos of that bike. Years later I bought a 2000 Harley Low Rider (no photos), then a 2007 Harley Softail before coming back to the Tour Glide / Road Glide. My wife started riding 12 years ago. I guess she got tired of looking at the back of my head! She rode a 2005 Harley Sportster 883 Low for 10 years before trading up to a Softail Deluxe 2 years ago. I currently ride with a Law Enforcement MC.

Had numerous “dirt bikes”, CBRs, and a GSXR. The closest I got to a HD was a V-Rod Muscle, but was shunned by the air cooled fellows... Ha. Currently bike-less, but looking at a Ducati... Always get the itch in the Spring ?

In my youth I had a Duo Glide followed by an Electro Glide. Only two serious wrecks over the years. Now, at 70 something, I fight the urge to get one of those BMW hermaphrodites. Might be the "right" bike for Alaskan conditions. Hopefully, I'll keep my wits and stay on four. I've got a lot of former copper pals that still ride though, a couple in their very late 70's.

When I took my late wife on her "bucket list" trip we ran into a few riders with some astounding camper rigs in tow. Ah, to be sixty again.

It’s my life story. I could’ve written this... my Dad started me on a 76 Honda Elsinore 125 and his first street bike was a Red Honda CB360T. I’ve been riding for 43 years. I’m on my 5th HD, a 2015 Roadglide. My first was a 1982 25th Anniversary Iron-Head Sportster 1000. I’ve owned a 1991, 1985 Sporties and a 2004 Night Train which I traded in when I bought my 15 Roadglide.

Disclaimer: The following is not a commentary on bikers in general but on one specific group.

I don't ride but did live in a town that was a main hub for the Sons of Silence. It was mildly terrifying the week before Sturgis as their private bar would spill out into the surrounding area and usually resulted in multiple deaths. Nice looking bikes though and our local Harley dealer was one of the best in the region.

No more track days or canyon racing for this kid. Woke up one morning after turning 50 and said to my self......”self, you made it alive to this point let’s not push it”?. Sold the last of 2 twin bikes to one of the kids in my unit at Ft. Stewart. Yeah, he promptly totaled it within 2 days?

Man, I cant wait for riding weather! I have several group rides planned this year. Gettysburg in May, Alabama in early June, Tennessee in late June, and West Virginia in September!
