That's too bad about coconut twist. I'd tried some in a box pass and loved it. It was a mild rope. I guess the prep was too much perhaps as it seems most ropes are absolute powerhouses so we know it's worth it
This is going to have immense repercussions. I'm glad I have a lifetime cellar. Sutliff supplies alot of oriental leaf. McClellands sourced their oriental through sutliff. Ken Byron Ventures had opened my eyes to how much tobacco sutliff sourced to blenders. I remember when Macbaren was...
I find any tobacco like captain black that's saturated with pg definitely gives me a chemical burn no matter how careful I am smoking it. So I don't bother with it
Even mason jars, unless you get the old school ones with glass tops and rubber seals and the ring I wouldn't trust them long term. The new ones say on the l7ds they're only made to last around 16 months. This isn't your grandma's canning jars. I've opened a few mason jars lately and even...
These are gasket lids. Can't use them for canning. I just use them once I pop a canning jar and it goes into a rotation. I'm getting more into smoking through a Jar and not having much open or I find it loses alot of flavor.
Gasket sealed jars are terrible for long term storage. I don't see why they'd be better in tubs. I don't see why 5 gallon mylar bags wouldn't be good. Is there a particular reason why you have to have 5 pounds in one bag?
In the beginning, latakia was my favourite, I find English blends very easy to smoke. I never hit a wall with it, i just discovered Virginia's. I prefer very light latakia now like early morning pipe.
Yeah I don't smell anything either. It sucks popping a jar and finding it's dried out though when you were thinking oh this is 10 years old going to be a treat. It's still smokable and has flavor and is enjoyable, but the thought that you've essentially wasted 10 years sucks. If you look on...
No you have to be really careful with Mason jars. I find alot of them don't seal properly. Like you get a speck of dust between the seal and there is no seal. I've been opening a few disappointing jars lately like 8 years old and it's dry as a bone. I've since gone to mylar. It even says with...
Samuel Gawith was. Gawith and hoggarth is a relatively new phenomenon as it was readily available everywhere and samual gawith was almost impossible to find
@PApiper63 what cigars do you enjoy? I smoke cigars as well. I find the nic hit from pipes different than cigars. Also what pipe blends have you tried? This way I could make a mote educated guess at what you're after
