I had a glass of Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof, it has the woodford reserve stopper, but it's not sealed enough, has lost strength, and tastes a little off, watery. Rittenhouse Rye is not one of my favorite drinks either. The bulleit 95 rye, also has a woodford reserve stopper, this one however is tighter. Today I saw an ad for Seagram's, which is at 00 alcohol.

But synthetic corks don't expand or shrink
Sorry, I was driving and couldn’t elaborate. I should have waited.

Cheap synthetic corks don’t expand, but this would be ok for spirits, since it doesn’t need to micro-oxygenate, since it is no longer aging.

But, there are better synthetic corks that keep their seals yet allow for mocro-oxygenation, which are better for wines.

I’m not even sure why spirits would even want cork.

I like Rittenhouse Rye for cocktails, almost never sip it on its own.

Never had a problem with loose corks. But this reminds me of a story: when I was in seventh grade, many years ago, a girl sitting next to me in science class raised her hand and asked to go to the bathroom. The teacher, who was chronically annoyed, found this request even more annoying and said, "No you can't--put a cork in it." Can't imagine how that would've played out had he said that today.
