    Baccy food and drink pairings

Usually, when I want to really enjoy a blend of drink with a smoke, be it a cigar or a pipe, it's one of two things: Coffee, Strong with extra strong stirred in, or alcohol. For me, when it comes to alcohol being paired with smoke, it's either a cognac, a rum, or a scotch. I prefer Dewares Scotch.

Finally found a tobacco that gave me a fight

I would like the answer to what the poster above me asked as well.

Finally found a tobacco that gave me a fight

JR Cigar, yup. Its the closest B&M I have and after that it's the Tinderbox with their high prices. Though I have to go there anyway usually because I get my snus there. But yeah, this tobacco is odd in that not only is it strong its very very dry. Almost crumble-dry.

Finally found a tobacco that gave me a fight

The Tobacco is English Burley Blend, house blend by JR tobacco company. Its a B&M tobacco.

Finally found a tobacco that gave me a fight

I shall start my post with a little background on how I enjoy tobacco. First and foremost, I need to taste it. That said, some may think "But all tobacco has taste (excluding the cheap crap)." Yes, true, however I seem to have a very bland taste pallet, so alot of the times the aromatics that I...

Hmm. New tobacco has a rubber feel.

I have let it sit out all day, so going to light this up and see how it does. Lets hope for the best.

Hmm. New tobacco has a rubber feel.

Ok, so, I went out and bought some McCelland Dark Star, and I believe it is a flake. Im thinking it is. The tobacco feels really rubbery though, like...its a really hard gum of some sort and not tobacco. Is this normal? Can post pictures if need be.

Can Someone in USA Explain What the Heck These Are:

Aussielass, I totally understand where you are coming from when you talk about America being a giant big litter bin. I use snus alot, along with my regular pipe smoking, and one thing I realized when I started snus was how dirty American people can be. Throwing just anything on the ground at any...

Pipe always burns really hot, no matter what.

Wow very nice Juni. Where would you go about getting one of those? Or even interchangeable stems for any of my pipes? Here is my pipe:

Pipe always burns really hot, no matter what.

That middle pipe you have is very similar to my own churchwarden. It is certainty my favorite pipe, which is why I was worried about it breaking. Very nice pipes you have there sir, and if you say I'll be fine with the heat I'll take your word on it and I shall enjoy my English blend right away...

Pipe always burns really hot, no matter what.

Pipe always burns really hot, no matter what.

I have a Nording pipe, I'm not sure what to call the bowl type, but it's a churchwarden. It always seems to burn really hot, no matter HOW slowly I smoke it. I smoke it the same usually as all my other pipes, yet it always gets the hottest. What could be a cause? Do I just have a pipe with a...

    Smoking Indoors

*update* well, gave it a try last night with a bottle of Deware's scotch. My room smells like my local B&M this morning, but it doesent bother me. The house didn't get a smoke smell, because I happened to notice it would waft under the door a bit so I placed a rug under my door. Thanks for the...

    Smoking Indoors

Mmm yeah thanks for the advice. I was hesitant to try it at first, because my grandmother's condition is so delicate you know. So, thanks for letting me know. And, I do have an air purifier, so that would be a good idea to use. Lawrence, I wish I had a man cave :worship: I dont have any spare...

    Smoking Indoors

Oh but to have the days return when smoking was hailed as the art of the Genteel, and a man was never without his hat or his pipe! Sadly we live in a time where smoking indoors anywhere but your home is considered as evil, vile, and wrong as assaulting someone. So we are left to our homes, (or...

Nudged A New Puffer In The Right Direction

Sundown, I know tobacco ages somewhat well in good conditions, but as for pipe tobacco, well...I think youll need something strong at first so when it mellows out with age (as all tobacco will) it will retain full flavor. 18 years is a long time for any tobacco, and of course it would need to be...

    Wet tobacco ;/

Interesting gentlemen. I have found this very helpful. Very helpful indeed. I have actually put a bowl out for dry-ing my tobacco, like you posted in that one picture OTD (seems like you help answer any question I ask haha). So lets hope for the best! Also, as a side question I have an idea and...

    Wet tobacco ;/

New tobacco from the B&M, two different types. I got Mac Baren 7 Seas Royal blend, and a house made blend. Problem is, when I tried to smoke both, they kept going out despite all my efforts. Any ideas how to get the perfect moisture level from new tobacco?

    Two pipe questions

Ohh Haunted, that must be why estate pipes always smell so pure (when they dont have mold). Never the less I do clean my estate bought pipes the first time like a mad man  On a side note, what do you all think is the best way to manage a re-pack mid bowl? Say if you find it too tight, how...
