I shall start my post with a little background on how I enjoy tobacco. First and foremost, I need to taste it. That said, some may think "But all tobacco has taste (excluding the cheap crap)." Yes, true, however I seem to have a very bland taste pallet, so alot of the times the aromatics that I love so much tend to taste very similar to me. I can tell the differences but usually I can't tell much of a difference. I dont know why.
Back when I smoked cigars, I usually bought very strong cigars, though usually ones with low nic content. I never had a cigar that beat me down until I smoked an Opus X (cigar smokers, you KNOW why the opus X put me in my chair and kept me there I dont need to explain). Of course, I love pipes and smoke them alot. I have never tried many English blends, or high Lak blends, but I have smoked a couple recently and I was sort of turned off by the tongue bite. However, I happened upon a very nice, strong English Burley blend that just blew me away. It's powerful, and it only sometimes chews on my tongue like a wild animal.
Here is my question. Should English blends be smoked slower and cooler? Or is there a proper way to enjoy them so that they do not become harsh?
Thanks guys and gals, in advance, for your replies.
