    Pallet Board Pipe Rack

Never heard of pallet wood being impregnated with anything. I live in an area of the ozarks where there are a lot of pallet mills and they just take raw timber and cut it into planks and then assemle the pallets, no chemicals of any kind used. Plus once you seal the wood with poly or some other...

Not sure how I missed out on this one. Been in every one until now. Oh well, such is life. Not having Internet at home can be a major pain.

Feb. St Louis Who is going?

See you all there for sure. I'll be spending Saturday night as Sunday morning I'll be heading for Virginia to work. I'll be pulling an old rusty 30' goose neck trailer so I'll be easy to spot in the parking lot at least.

Feb. St Louis Who is going?

It's always a good show and just remember, it's one of the few where you can still smoke inside the show. ;)

Feb. St Louis Who is going?

Next Saturday is the annual pipe show in St. Charles. My buddy and I will both be there and have tables as usual. I may even have a couple of my own making. It's always a good time. I was wondering who would be coming. If you'll be there give me a shout here. Also make sure and stop by the...

    Disaster on the Home Front!

Thanks for all the well wishes and positive thoughts. The cleanup is moving along. Think it's going to be a fight with the insurance company though. Meet with the adjuster in the morning. So we shall see.

    Disaster on the Home Front!

Made a trip down to my parents home this weekend. My dad is up in age and having health problems so we went down to lend a hand. While gone Missouri had a couple of its coldest nights getting into single digits. We didn't think it was any big deal as we had our heater on. Little did we expect...

    Non- cigarette pipe smokers

The blend would be 965. I moved on to heavier englishes from there.

    Thinking of trying a Churchwarden

My suggestion would be too buy one with both the warden stem as well as a short stem. That way if you don't like the long pipe, you can smoke it in the shorter version. The Hans Christian Andeerson is a good example.

    Charlotte to Greensboro NC

I'm in the Greensboro/Kernersville area right now. Will be here for a few weeks working. If anyone is close, I could meet you somewhere in the evening for a smoke....... As long as I don't have to drive too far, as I work early morning to early evening. Just send me a PM.

Question for Tamper Makers Regarding 9mm Shells

I usually cut mine shorter. Then I take acrylic, wood, deer antler or bamboo and turn the end down till the casing fits over it. I leave the rest a bit oversized. I then epoxy the casing on and after it dries I then sand the other material down to match the casing so that there isn't a lip...

    My First Ruthenberg

That is one fine looking pipe. I have to agree that Brian's work is top notch. He is a great guy to meet and talk to as well. Your showing this pipe made me dig my own natural ruthenburg out and puff it. I'm doing just that now.

    Gouge in briar bowl-fixable?

I don't use pipe mud but it works. Just have to be careful you don't knock it loose when your cleaning your pipe. What I use is powdered grout mix. I mix it just like the pipe mud and then apply it to the insid of the bowl with a Q tip that has the fuzzy end cut off. Smoke it once and you'll...

    Hatfield Pipes Wot Happened?

I'm actually working on a version myself. The one I am making is a tad longer I think, but the bowl is 1 3/4" tall and the bowl is 3/4" inside. I'm making it for someone that asked me for one.

Drilled my first pipe on a lathe today

Drilling on a lathe is a much more controllable endeavor. Congratulations on the advancement in your pipemaking. A good set of jaws would make the process even easier. Spade bits can be very consistent and work well if you grind them correctly. Cutting the bit shorter helps as well. I look...
