    Kai Nielsen Pipes

Kai Nielsen pipes are really well made, but part of the high price for them is that Kai is a very well established pipe maker, and comes from a family of similarly well established pipe makers. He's the son of Viggo Nielsen, who owned the Bari factory, and made great quality Danish pipes back...

Show us (me) your stranger Stanwells

Yes, the history of Danish pipemakers and institutions is a very tangled Web. And I also love the Danish Pipe Shop. The Nielsens are so lovely and helpful.

Show us (me) your stranger Stanwells

Lov Lovely! If information serves correctly, this was made in the 1960s by Poul Hansen, who was originally one of Sixten Ivarsson's pupils, before becoming an accomplished carver in his own right. He would later own The Danish Pipe Shop in Copenhagen, before selling the store to the Nielsen...

Show us (me) your stranger Stanwells

Preferably with the shape numbers or line nomenclature. It will help me further complete the pipedia list of Stanwell shapes and shape numbers.

Show Off Your Tsuge / Japanese Pipes

I have the spring, but I am afraid I cannot part with it. One of my most beautiful pipes.

Just Won a Stanwell: Any Good?

Looks lovely. What is that, a shape 227? Cigarbids blocks us Euros lol. It looks like one of Tom Eltang's bent Dublin designs for Stanwell. Great pipe.

    In-house Stanwell experts?

Thank you. I have just added a line-specific shape variations section for this exact reason, and hope to continue to add to it when I have time (I am mainly using this project as a distraction from writing my PhD dissertation, haha).

    In-house Stanwell experts?

Hello there I am currently in the process of updating the pipedia.org list of Stanwell shape numbers throughout its history. The original list was compiled by Basil Stevens, who knew more than anyone outside of Stanwell employees themselves about the brand, but sadly he passed away a few years...

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

We have better wildlife conservation efforts now which helps keep the monkeys both healthy and away from the city itself. Not sure what the problem is supposed to be with the Moroccans tho

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

Yeah maybe it has changed somewhat in 20 years.

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

As someone who has lived for years in, and currently lives in, Gibraltar, this is absolutely not true. Gibraltar shops sell cheap tobacco because it is not taxed. We do not have "back street sellers" of anything. This is not some third-world country. Frankly, Gibraltar is more economically...

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

We could have some proof if Simong showed us the email he claims Mac Baren sent him confirming this.

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

I just don't see the rationale for counterfeiting pipe tobacco. Pipe smokers are literally a dying breed, and there's nowhere near the resurgence of pipe smoking in the UK like there is in the US. Counterfeit teabags though, that I can see happening, though it does make my British heart shudder.

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

I'm pretty simple when it comes to tobacco. I like burley flakes and spicy VaPers. Being in Europe I never got to try McClelland when they were available. I mostly smoked university flake. But since everyone is always raving about McC I thought I had to give it a try. I will freely admit now...

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

He wants me to buy him the pouches from a tobacconist in the UK. We traded 1 tin of McC 1776 and a lot of beaten up basket pipes for 8 pouches of St Bruno. Simon now wants 8 fresh pouches from a UK vendor, where SB is 20£ each. So he wants 160£.

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

I've asked Simong to show me or copy me the email where Mac Baren states that the tobacco is fake, but he refuses to do that until I pay up 160£. Something isn't right here. See below for the messages in our pms.

8£ (we don't use euros here) but yeah I thought so. If I'm honest, I've tried the 1776 and I dont know if I like it all that much. I don't know if my palate is refined enough to appreciate McClelland virginias, but then again I usually smoke burleys.

It is, but I would also say that it was less a request than a demand, under the threat of legal action and public shaming.

4 packs of St Bruno for one 50g tin of 1776.

    Fake St. Bruno is About!

I did try. I told Simong that I wasn't going to give a stranger 160£ (St Bruno is 20£ in the UK) until I saw some kind of proof. I'm happy to report this shop to Mac Baren (actually, SB is distributed by STG, which is odd), but I need to be copied into this email first.
