    I like Pirate Kake, but agree that it has a simple flavor. It's mostly bottom end, like a Cello. I'm exploring English blends, and like Latakia a lot. My first love was Dunhill's Nightcap. It tastes very different from Pirate Kake.

    Thanks for more selections to try. I'm seriously interested. I ordered Black House earlier today, along with Baby's Bottom, Latakia Flake, and Old Ironsides. On deck, I've got Ten Russians, Stimulus Package, Da Vinci, and Private Stock. Long live Latakia.

    Tin date is 6-01-15. Components: Latakia, Orientals, Perique, and Virginia - as listed at smokingpipes. The tin only mentions Latakia. Crumble Cake. Full on Latakia! Another favorite along with Nightcap and Pirate Kake. This is a monster. If you need me, I'll be up in the crows nest.

    Tin date is 4-24-15. Components are Latakia (75%), Turkish, and Burley. This is a long burning tobacco. Crumble cake. I haven't needed to dry it. I retrohale through the nose a lot, and it is a bit sharp that way, but not so in the mouth. I've been smoking this in comparison to C&D Byzantium...

    Advice for a previous non-smoker

    Cornell and Diehl's Epiphany is an interesting blend that has a touch of fruitiness to it, though it's not advertised as an aromatic. It has Virginias, Burleys, Latakia, and Perique. I'm on my first tin and it's a pleasant smoke, although it took a few bowls to decide that.
