    It's strange, at first meerschaum seems immune to cake, then suddenly it sticks on there like there's no tomorrow. Why not build cake? I'm doing it too, so you won't be the only one with a cracked meer atleast!

    There is no way to know if "plume" is mold or not. Fungus can take countless forms, and there is really no way for us to quickly know if it is mold, and if it in that case is dangerous. Just because it isn't stringy or foamy, does not mean that it is not mold. I would just smoke it I think...

    No clue on how others describe it, but I would call it an absence of roughness. A blend can be spicy and smooth, since it has a tingly spice but is in other ways smooth and not irritating to retrohale. Maybe "creamy" is an adjective that can be used together with "smoothness" on occasion too.

    Very true :) What a wonderful feeling that would be. I really should not worry about this, but there is something special about being able to nurse a bowl over a really long period.

    I've never tried a plug or twist. Maybe there is something with how compressed it is, but some tobaccos just burn faster or slower. Even my fold and stuffs don't last as long as the Saint James Flake did.

    The slowest smoking tobacco that I've ever smoked was a bowl of Saint James Flake, which rubbed out lasted more than 80 minutes, while my ordinary rubbed out bowls usually last less than an hour. I'm looking for more delicious slow smoking tobaccos, so: What is your slowest smoking tobacco?

    I'm looking forward to seeing your updates, it will sure take a heavy beating this year. But the Altinays that I've seen on the forum have mostly colored nicely. That fresh pearly white color is fantastic.
