As far as whether or not to open another tin, it is a tough decision. But eventually I came to the conclusion that tobacco ages best in a mason jar and it allows easy access. Cleaning a Rusticated Rim?
I use Kramer’s Best Antique Improver or Murphy’s Oil Soap applied with a soft toot brush with decent success. Both are safe for wood. I have not tried Carbon-Off! some recommended here because it is labeled for metal only.- Mike N
