How Many Tubs Do You Have?

I have wondered the same thing. My problem is that a 14 oz tub would probably last me several years because I don’t smoke every day and I would be smoking other things. So I figured I might have to break it up and transfer it to jars.

    1 Grabow for 1 Year (8/2/19)

There’s more than one reason I take a cob fishing or hiking! The biggest is that I don’t want to put my briar through the experience of getting dropped or knocked around... I guess I need to get some basket pipes so that my cob does not get all the abuse!

How Many Tubs Do You Have?

I do not have any tubs yet, but I am starting to move towards buying in larger blends I like in larger quantities and could see me buying a tub or two. My first may very well be Carter Hall. I am going to explore aromatics again and could see me buying something like SWRA or Anglers Dream in...

    1-Q Revisited

I kind of went off of 1-Q a few months ago. Don’t know why. My family gave me a tin of Sorenson Mixture from Norway, so I have been wondering about returning to aromatics to see if a new ‘go to blend’ emerges for me.

Advice Please! Amping It Up A Bit

As a n00b I am probably asking for it... I am scheming on my next tobacco order and I am thinking I want to throw in a tin to amp it up a bit in strength and flavor. I am open to any blend... a few that have caught my eye that may or may not fit the bill.... Old Dark Fired Black Frigate Key...

    Just a Couple Beginner Questions...

Welcome! I am a fairly new piper and this forum has been awesome. I have yet to see someone tell me that I asked a stupid question or that my experience was invalid. Unless you have some sort of personal chemical or allergic reaction to tobaccos in general, this is likely 'tongue bite'. Lots...

    Pegasus - Bulk versus Tin

I came at Pegasus after smoking Carter Hall and Prince Albert in my very early piping experiences. I kind of went off of Prince Albert, but kept Carter Hall around for a simple, easy smoke from time to time. Pegasus for me is the same experience, but a notch up. Still easy to smoke, very...

    Pegasus - Bulk versus Tin

I am thinking of buying some Pegasus in bulk... for now it is my goto burley based blend. To date I have only bought tins of it. Has anyone found any difference in the bulk version in comparison with the tin?

    Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

This summer I got a sample of SG St. James Flake. I had been smoking Orlik Golden Sliced quite nicely and so I didn‘t even think twice about trying another VaPer. It kicked my butt!!! I could not keep the stupid thing lit. It was like I was a first time piper and knew nothing about how to...

Where Do You Smoke Your Pipe?

Sorry. I was trying to keep it simple with the goal to indicate whether or not members are out and about or not. If they aren’t out much, then they are mostly underground and they won’t be seen. There’s a chance to be seen in a car, but not likely and I see your point. I guess there should have...

Where Do You Smoke Your Pipe?

LOL So currently there is a ratio of over 3 to 1, smoking at pretty much at home to otherwise. This is not perfect or scientific by any shape of the matter, but it does highlight the importance of a forum like this. I know I would have never taken up the pipe if it were not for the internet...

Where Do You Smoke Your Pipe?

Reading the threads about the state of pipe smoking and observations that not many pipe smokers are seen out and about these days, it got me to thinking... where do pipers on these forums most often smoke? Is it mostly at home or do you also have places out there that you enjoy smoking? For...

***What Are You Smoking? January 2020.***

So grateful for this community... I have learned so much and have been stunned by the welcome... AND there's so much left to explore and enjoy. After a break caused by bad weather and schedule, I enjoyed a bowlful of Pegasus and a stout cup of coffee.

So is US Pipe Smoking on the Rise... Or Decline?

Interesting. I started with a cob myself and to this day it is my favorite for a vaper and to take fishing. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but it has worked for me. But one path tried for one is not always the best for another. I’ll keep my eye out for a basket pipe or two as well.

Amphora Virginia - A Brief Review

Amphora blends have been on my want to try list and as I like virginias, I'll bump this to the top. Nice review.
