    My Pipe Is Burning Through

That's too bad, but one of the hazards of the sport. You get to buy another pipe! Before you decide to chunk it, cut it in half lengthwise with a bandsaw, lets see a cross section of the bowl and shank ... just for shits and grins :)

    Unsubscribed

Not all YouTubers are like what you saw @cosmicfolklore I watch a lot of YouTube, but the only pipe related stuff I watch is restoration or repair video's from only a few people. I enjoy watching all kinds of restoration videos. From pocket watches to caterpillar bulldozers. There's a lot of...

    Big Change For Me

I kinda had the same thing happen, but it was a gradual thing. I still enjoy Lat in a medium english blend, but I can't tolerate a heavy Lat blend anymore. I always thought this was a very weird thing to happen. Still do. Just doesn't really make since, but we roll with it anyway. Enjoy whatever...

    pipe purchase

You didn't really tell us anything about the condition of the pipe. Has it been refurbished? On a basic level, I'd ask the seller: Does the bowl have any burn outs or cracks? Does it smell like perfume or grandma's underwear? Are there any bite holes on the stem, or any evidence of a broken...

    RIP Robbie Knievel

He was more talented than his dad IMO. I was fortunate to see Evil Knievel jump in the Astrodome in 1971 with my Dad... good memories.

Disagreements about how moist tobacco should be

Ya, I don't find that there are disagreements on this, rather varying opinions based on what works for each individual. Like everyone else said and like with everything about this hobby it's all based on individual preferences and tastes.

    Ruminations on Pixie Dust

From my understanding, it takes some serious effort, dedication and focus, on happy thoughts ...

What is This Gunk on the Bit and How Do You Deal With It?

If you use a lip balm with an SPF rating, it will go a long way in preventing oxidation from UV light ;)

    Why Oil Polish?

So here's the problem, as my old dumb eye's see it. If you bought an estate pipe that the owner previously used carnauba wax on, none of your oils will penetrate, but rather sit on the surface of the wax. So in order for your oils to penetrate you have to manually remove the wax first... If...

    Commute Smoking

Simply turn the heat on. With the vent set to Fresh Air, it will heat the fresh air before it enters the cab and take the smoke, and heated air out the small crack in the driver's window.

    Commute Smoking

Hmm. Really? 1) Just keep your AC/HEAT/VENT system set to fresh air... all the time. Then you won't have to think about that part. 2) Just crack your window an inch or two when you smoke your pipe. And make sure all the other windows are closed. That doesn't sound complicated to me... With...

    The Generosity of Strangers

Very cool Dan! Nothing that happens on here surprises me anymore, the most wonderful bunch of characters anyone could hope to associate with!

The Perfect Electric Buffer For Pipes?

Lol, right. I got all that. I did plan on fixing it to a piece of hardwood I have, then clamping that to my desk. It just makes it easier. Unfortunately, I don't have a shop like I did back in the day. I rent a room. So I'm delegated to my room. I have to make do with what I have. I thought...
