I watch a lot of YouTube, but the only pipe related stuff I watch is restoration or repair video's from only a few people.

I enjoy watching all kinds of restoration videos. From pocket watches to caterpillar bulldozers.
There's a lot of fun, interesting, and informative stuff to see on YouTube ... without seeing a talking head spew opinions out they're dumb face holes. Point in fact, 90% of what I watch has no talking in it at all. You can't get upset with people who don't talk, they just do!

Not all YouTubers are like what you saw

Oh, I'm just being silly. I realize that there is a whole bunch of guys who have this desire to hang out with another pipesmoker... maybe learn something, emulate... find inspiration, There's this image of men retiring to the den as he women folk entertain in the... whatever those rooms are called. Fireplaces, brandy, or dark leathery wines, and pipes full of the latest craze... all leaning of hearths and swapping business plans, discussing ventures, pitching investments. Not everyone can just pull up a crate on the porch next to the farmers all buying Pepsis, peanuts, and pouches of Sit Walter Raleigh, talking about fertilizer prices, seed, and complain about the chicken house down the road. Or, even just set down next to another pipesmoker and complain about how long their wives are taking finding a new Sunday dress. I get it. YouTube creates that.

Pipe restoration and maybe some reaming videos, I can see some use in that. It was Youtube where I found the technique of rolling twist tobaccos.

But, YouTube tobacco reviews? That's like turning to interpretive dance for how to jar your tobaccos. It's just the wrong medium. In my opinion of course. I can just scan a jiminks review and get a better jist of what a tobacco will be like. But, it's neat that someone tries. I can just take 3 minutes to open tobaccorevies and scan the jim review. Where it would take much more time to watch a video. but, it's neat little genre of folks.

But, I meant everything I said about tattlers, h aha.

I admit that I watched a couple of The Pipe Cottage earlier videos. I stopped watching them because I couldn't get past his "accent" and speech pattern.

So by calling this “Parting Shot” am I to understand that this means he is leaving YouTube?

In his rant he talks about no longer having an interest in making pipe videos but wants to cover the "historicity that surrounds" people who smoke pipes who he admires, so probably John Wilkes Booth or some such.

I've seen a few of his videos. The only criticism I'll air is that his intro is way too long. In fact, I wish everyone on YT would get rid of intros entirely. They are only clever to the owner of the channel; to everyone else it's annoying.

I've enjoyed several videos from Hobbiton Piper (seems like a really good guy), and I have enjoyed many from the "Maaaaatchezzz...." guy (RIP). Some of his ramblings are really good IMO.

Also what’s your chess rating? I’m also a blitz chess player though I’m not very good. I usually hover around 1600 but right now I’m around 1550 cause I haven’t been playing much so when I do play I’m rusty.
