    Good mistake?

Some of my favorites are ones I picked up on a whim. Glad to hear you "accidentally" found a new favorite you may not have ever known about. Enjoy

    New baby M

beautiful little meer. I really like the red color in the stem. Congrats and enjoy

    Sutliff - "Mixture 79"

Anise is tasty. Of course, I grew up eating Italian cookies flavored with anise so I may be a bit biased. Something about anise really goes with and enhances tobacco for me. @perdurabo: good tip for home blends

What Are Your Favorite Nicotine Bombs?

Rattray's Stirling Flake is another good one. Also recently tried Warrior Plug which is respectable in the nic department and darn tasty too.

What are your favorite tin notes?

Hot Garbage. --from an old post where a member's wife described the smell of burning 1792. Also, another vote for Mclelland VAs.

    My favorite blend

Yup, great photo! I never really get the "Lakeland" signature flavor with SL Not for everyone, but I certainly like it when the urge hits. In fact, sometimes when I smell an old lady passing, I start drooling for a good GH tobacco. thinking about it... Drooling over old ladies might be why...

    Can They Handle The Can?

Agreed! I've never had a problem with square tins, but if I was stressed about it, I'd do whatever I could to alleviate the stress. Pipes shouldn't be stressful. Welcome to the forums

New St. James Flake Box is Full of Plume

never bought the box, but have had quite a bit of plume on the tinned SJF. Wonderful stuff

    Meerschaum or Morta?

Meer for neutral. I have never smoked a morta, but my understanding is that they do impart their own flavors. I would love to try a morta someday, but would still have chosen a meer 1st if I had it to do over again

    Hellhammer -- A deathmetal mixture

Sounds interesting. I look forward to trying DM's mixtures someday, they're always reviewed well. Making mixtures is one of the joys of pipe smoking IMHO.

Standard Tobacco - "War Horse Bar"

I knew it! Time to retreat to my heavily fortified bunker and put on the foil hat.

Standard Tobacco - "War Horse Bar"

my guess is Alien DNA. That's the secret, right?

Smoked a cob for the first time today

Welcome to the wonderful world of cobs. Even though I smoke briars most often at home, one doesn't really NEED more than a cob. Wonderful smokers

    R.I.P. Carrie Fisher

Sorry to hear that Duane. I respecetd Nimoy and enjoyed his work. That was a sad one also

    Soaking and cleaning, how long?

I wouldn't soak for long, and never the outside unless you don't care about ruining the finish on the pipe. I think that cleaning with whiskey and maybe leaving a whiskey soaked pipe cleaner in the stem for a couple hours should probably do the trick. I'm sure one of the members more...

    Cellaring Esoterica Bags

I jar the ones I store long term and cut out & tape the labels to the jars. The bags may be fine, but I always prefer to smoke at least 1/4 fresh, so I've never actually had an unopened bag for more than a couple months. I'd jar to be safe though after reading what Esoterica themselves have...

1902 Cutty with Amber Stem And Colored Meerschaum????

I would guess a stained meer also. Nice find regardless. Great looking pipe!

Could Carter Hall be Classified as an Aromatic?

I never really considered it an aromatic, but with the topping I guess it could be. I get more tobacco from it than blends I usually think of as aros. I guess it's a fuzzy line.

    R.I.P. Carrie Fisher

You said it well ophiuchus. With my inappropriate gallows humor, I usually make jokes about celebrity deaths. Not this time. This one has gotten to me more than most. Princess Leia and Linda Carter's Wonder Woman were both childhood crushes for me. Also, the original Star Wars characters...

Status Update and a Two-Wheeled Lunt

Sounds fun. I enjoy riding my bike also, but have never liked smoking while riding. Sounds like you are enjoying the new life!
