    Canadians rock!

about 20 years ago, I went on a climbing expedition in the Canadian Rockies (Bugaboo Glacier). Beautiful place. Also a very warm and kind people in my experience.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Passes Away at 99

yeah, 99 years old is definitely a young and tragic death. Sorry, couldn't resist. It just seems funny to me that people keep cursing this year for old people dying. Old people tend to die on a fairly regular basis. My kids and I have woken up breathing every day this year, so it seems like...

On The Use Of The Word "Aromatic"

Great point warren!!! I might add, "And when." I have always fount that topic endlessly fascinating and have also been amazed that we, as a species, have managed to communicate at all. I found out while paint shopping with my ex-wife that, "I really don't care, whatever color you want...

    SW Rogue One

I like the entire Star Wars saga and look forward to seeing it. I'm almost 44, so grew up with the originals, and ALL of the movies were a mix of annoying (C3P0, Jar-Jar, bad actors...) and entertaining (familiar yet somewhat unique story writing, good actors, great effects etc...).

    Revisiting War Horse Green

Licorice root is many times sweeter than sugar. Although it is a very different sweetness. When I used to brew beer, I'd use licorice root to add a non-ferment-able sweetness to holiday/winter brews. I enjoy the flavoring (often mixed with anise) as a tobacco flavoring/additive also

On The Use Of The Word "Aromatic"

technically perique, latakia, orientals ... are aromatic or flavoring/condiment tobaccos (at least as far as I understand).

    Dry tobacco

I've never been satisfied with the results after re-hydrating tobacco, but many here have reported great results. It's probably at least worth the very small effort to see if it works for you. Try a wet paper towel on some foil on top of the tobacco in a sealed jar, or one of the other methods...

    A Soggy SG Drying Experience

Wow, I've never had it take more than an hour, maybe 90 min. I do live in a drier area, but that seems excessive. Good luck getting it smokable

How Would You Repair This Stem? (an ISPD Tragedy)

^^^ Boy, your posts are certainly short and pleasant aren't they?

How do I fight the FDA?

Actually tmb, "The pursuit of happiness," refers to property rights as interpreted by the Supreme Court. As much as many people, including myself, would like to see a variety of tobaccos released at any time readily available at a low price, it is not a constitutional right.

A Great 'Reason' Magazine Piece on FDA & Deeming

Great observation MSO. I think this is an evolutionary obsolete leftover of human nature. We put things in very black & white categories which probably helped with survival at some point, but leaves us unable to take nuance and circumstance into account and see the bigger picture.

    RIP Alan Thicke

Who? Actually I'm old enough to have grown up with "Growing Pains." I always thought the sister was pretty hot --- even though she was the less hot Gold sister (Benson anyone?)

Snow, Snow and More Snow...Please Make It Stop

yeah but a jeep or any 4WD vehicle doesn't stop any faster on the snow or ice. Despite what the California transplants with their SUVs may think -Not a comment on you, just the newbies here in Colorado

Price of Pipes/Lady of the House

When I was married, it never came up. But we were both making good money and it wasn't really an issue. I usually bought my pipes when I was on the road for business and stopped in the local B&M. Funny though, I always wondered what I'd tell her if she asked. I made a couple purchases I...
