    Found at Estate Sale

Damn; it must have been something to see those thousand-pound barrels rolling in! I wonder how long it would take my local to get through a single hogshead.

    Anyone From Ottawa, Ont Canada?

And a new pipe-club was born!

Come Now, It's Really the Proper Thing to Do...

You mean you're NOT Spiderman? *mind-blown*

The Canadian Edition Box Pass - Round 1

LOL - don't worry about it (telling folks to leave a few flakes)...after you introduced me to the blend, it became a fast favourite of mine, and even became fodder for a review for the main-page - I have a few pounds squirreled away against SG shortages and rainy days! That said, I can attest...

The Canadian Edition Box Pass - Round 1

Glad to see everyone is having fun with this! I have updated the list on Google Docs. to contain everyones forum handles - sorry for that oversight on my part! New guys, if you can get a member who meets the criteria to vouch for you (IE complete a trade) and are willing to adhere to the other...

    Anyone From Ottawa, Ont Canada?

Vinvin; Toronto supports a pipe-club - I'm sure they would be more than happy to smoke a bowl with you!

    Nose Problem?

It could be due to the smoke actually drying out the skin in your nose (an issue I have with some blends; I believe it is caused by the humectant in my case) - try using a simple saline spray after your bowl and see if that alleviates the issue, of course YMMV, but it works for me!

Media Perpetuates The "Pipe = Pot" Stereotype

    My thoughts exactly Lonestar.

    Pipe shapes and styles

I like to add fuel to the fire (last paragraph) - and I have to say that Steve (Downie) has never steered me wrong in the past!

    Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend !!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! Think I'll delve into some Sam's Flake over the weekend - an agreeable room-note and hordes of soothing nicotine make it the perfect blend for spending time with the in-laws. Man, am I happy to be living on the mild south-western coast. We're still in the...

    Smoking Ban

Good tip: when you have a legal question, turn first to the municipal by-laws. In this day and age, you can access every towns city-hall over the net. A quick search of 'San Antonio Smoking Regulations - Exemptions' turns up this bit of info in a pamphlet available to proprietors, explaining the...

    Motorsports

No love for the sportscars? GT and DP class racing, now that's good stuff. Not so much about going fast, but I also enjoy ARCA/IRCA rock-crawling.

    How Slow?

Well said cigrmaster - I would add that every pipe-smoker will have a slightly different cadence that works for them. I have found that your pipe will tell you when you are smoking too fast - it starts with a perceptible warming of the smoke itself, often followed by the bowl - and if not...

The start of a fantastic 3 day weekend...

It all depends on how long you plan on keeping them around for - however, I disagree with my peers on this, it has been my experience that baggies of tobaccos stored together will indeed exchange flavours. Baggies are most certainly air-permiable, otherwise meat would last for months, while...

    Death of the Rock Star

I was actually thinking of Phil when I made my post above. I seem to recall from one of the videos either Phil or Vinnie noting that Dime couldn't play a riff sober - but if he had to be 'carried out on stage you knew he was going to slay'.

The Canadian Edition Box Pass - Round 1

Yes! This was the point I was trying to make when I reminded everyone to take stuff too! Are you a member stanwellman? It would be nice to put a face to the grey-scale! Coincidentally, I'm always willing to meet up for a smoke, reside in the Tri-Cities (Poco), but I'm all over the Lower...

The Canadian Edition Box Pass - Round 1

Yeah, I tossed in a brick of carnuba wax for anyone who might be interested. I should be visiting my bee-keeper friend this weekend, I'll try and grab some pure beeswax for the next round. 38 blends at time of shipping.

    Your Thoughts on Brigham Pipes

Wow, your B&M is sporting some OLD stock - the transition, according the the Brigham website, was in the "early 1980's". Wish my locals still had the old Brighams! I first encountered sodium-silicate in Food Sciences 101; it is used in the industry to improve the shelf-life of eggs. Simply...
