Do You Open And Smoke Them All At Once?

I have about a dozen glass bail jars for the stuff I want to have handy - I'm still exploring, so I like to have variety. I use the mason jars for long term storage, though I do have one full of Escudo (the rest of my Escudo stash is in the original tins). As for opening the tins, it varies...

    Molto Dolce/Antifreeze?

Having worked in food service during my youth, I can confidently say that the employees probably contain more ethanol than the food does...

If you had to choose only one blender - or blends from one company?

I'd have to recuse myself, as I have not yet tried enough tobaccos to honestly choose a single blender's product over another's.

    January TAD...

Thank goodness my wife can't seem to pass up the loose-leaf tea vendors at the conventions we go to - anytime she questions my TAD, I can simply point to the Shelf of Tea in our pantry... :D Anyway, I'd been wanting to pick up some of the H&H Sugar Barrel Match blend, and then I got the e-mail...

    Molto Dolce/Antifreeze?

I'm always amused by the folks who get bent about PG in their tobacco, and then rave about Biotene mouthwash... :D As with so many things, it's the dose that makes the poison. There are antifreezes that have replaced ethylene glycol (which is toxic, and has led to pet deaths) with...

    Mark Twain (MM)

I have two Country Gentleman cobs, and just picked up a Mark Twain. I do like the large cobs (I also have a "smokable seconds" Great Dane that's reserved for Black House) - they fit nicely in my hands, but are still light enough to be good clenchers.

H&H Tobacco Can Art: Sincere or Spoof

In the case of "Sweet Cask", Middleton discontinued Sugar Barrel a few months back, so there was definitely an opportunity there... Not sure about the reasoning behind the other clones - H&H has had MATCH blends of several bulk blends in their catalog for a while now, so the practice is nothing new.

***What Are You Smoking *** (Jan. 2015)

Went ahead and smoked some of my carefully hoarded Sugar Barrel in a MM Missou - just as delicious as I remembered. Now to try some of the H&H Match version...

    A Nice Surprise From Sutliff!

The free tin promotion is how I got hooked on Molto Dolce - always on the lookout for aros that get wifely approval!

    How Long Do You Smoke?

Hah! Nailed it - all of the MM Cobs listed at Iwan Ries are Group 3, either Legends or Missori Prides. :D

    How Long Do You Smoke?

I thought I remembered the issue of Dunhill group sizes popping up a few months back, and sure enough - here's the thread I was thinking of: What is meant by "Group 3" or "Group 4", etc. If I digested the information given correctly, it sounds as if the specific dimensions of the chamber are...

    A Good Schedule for Cleaning?

I don't smoke that often - usually a couple of bowls on Friday afternoons, and maybe another bowl or two over the weekend, weather permitting (definitely if yardwork is on the agenda...). I'll swab out the bowl with a paper towel and run pipe cleaners through after smoking, and then about once a...

    Some New Tobaccos I'm Trying...

House of Lords was one of the Latakia blends I ordered for my first foray into "Stinky Englishes" (my wife's term). I like it - it's the most robust of the three I ordered (the others being H&H Daybreak and H&H Victorian Stroll), though it's not at Black House's level.

 Proving once again that you should skip every other Windows release if at all possible... :D

    New Year's Pipe

I'll probably smoke another bowl of Odin's Wind in my Mark Twain cob, and then consider writing up a review. Then I'll probably try some Eric the Red and see how the Slurpee/Starburst cherry aroma translates when smoked... :D

    New Years Eve Whisky/Burbon/Scotch Choice

See, if it were me, I'd get a bottle of Laphroaig 18... Heavenly! But then, I'm a fan of the heavily peated Scotches, along with Lapsang Souchon tea and Latakia-heavy blends like Black House. If you like port. the Balvenie Port Wood 21 is about the same price as the MacAllen 18.

    I don't understand rusticated pipes

I just bought my first rusticated pipe, as my local B&M just happened to have a Rossi Vittoria in the 8320 Author shape, which is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine. The rustication does add a tactile dimension to the pipe smoking experience. I'm still a fan of smooth pipes with nice grain, but...

How long would 10 lbs of tobacco last you?

I only smoke 1-2 bowls a week on average - so I'm looking at 15-20 years, maybe more...

Mississippi River - bulk or tin?

I've got 8oz. of Sugar Barrel match on its way - I'll be doing a taste-test once it arrives... Not that it will help that much, as Sugar Barrel is no longer available, but at least I'll know whether to stash a couple of jars for future reference.
