    I Dun Did it Now!

Congrats six! Glad you stuck with shopping. I've said before that nice pipes are 'not' out of the price range for some. Patience and persistence win every time. Looking forward to learning the year and seeing the 'after' photo's.

Your Pipe Is A reflection Of Your Personality?.

When just relaxing in my chair, I like a meerschaum or calabash. But when up and about I lean toward a bulldog or rhodesian, on the large side. A cob when on the lake or in the woods. I guess it just depends on what I'm doing.

Gabrielle Smoking Haddo's Delight in Willmer AAA (Pipe Babe)

Sweet lookin' Gal and a cool pipe!

    Round Metal Filter??

I tried them in the early 70's... just because I was getting anything 'pipe' related. But I don't care for a basket in my pipes. May be useful for a large bowl pipe with a large draft, to keep a small cut tobacco off your tongue.

    End of the World Blend

The Mayan calendar says it'll end on the 21st, but fortunately, Oreo cookies say not to worry. I'll be smoking what's open.

What do you say to that?!?!

If she said "Nice to know that pipe smoking is more important than kissing me". You could have said "Only because it was lit Hun, I'll lite you up later!"

Taking my lumps trying to go cheap

Just an idea: If you're getting your estates from eBay, have other forum members help you take a look at it. You can't tell everything from photo's, but a few different sets of eyes may spot flaws that one set may miss. (Nothing wrong with buying a pipe with damage or flaws to get it...

Five Brothers Thanks to My Man Weezell!

Not the best of smokes but I put it in a cob and smoke outside doing a project. A good smoke when you're not really paying attention. I like the shag cut... easy to load and stays lit. Comes in a pouch which is easy to pocket.

    GBD 9438 Prehistoric

That'll make a good pipe for sure. I need to snag a few more GBD's, a nice old brand. Looking forward to the clean-up photo's!

Another awesome new Pipe Experience from Noob

Sounds Great! I usually smoke my meerschaums inside, but sounds like you had a pleasant walk. I like being alone most of the time, but the pups join me during excursions down the road sometimes. (Be careful with a meer on a windy day. Had one crack and blow-up in my face years ago when it got...

A Liberal Stands Up For Santa

Poor idiot! I heard she mortgaged her house to have it published. Leave Santa alone, as well as all literature written by long gone writers. (Santa’s gonna love the cookies in Colorado and Washington).

    Poison ivy

I'm with a bleach bath also. Gets rid of ivy and chiggers. Having worked at a chemical plant after the Marines, we used white vinegar to neutralize most chemical burns. (Organic chemicals, which ivy oil is a member of). I never used it on ivy, but it makes perfect sense!

To buy or not to buy... :|

There's nothing wrong with a 'seconds' pipe. Some minor flaw or small stone in the burl. June and I buy day old bread... Bread sets in the bread box for several days, is never all eaten the day it was baked. But it's always just fine.

    Early Bird Club

Good Morning Fellas... I actually slept until 4:45 this morning, which is late for me. The pups were ready to go when I came out front, they couldn't even wait until the coffee was ready.

Do Meerschaum pipes need to rest

I believe all the advice and differing opinions on resting pipes, both brier and meerschaum, is just a beginners guide. But it comes down to this: If you smoke 8 bowls a day in a pipe, and one day you smoke 9 and the pipe goes sour, then go back to just 8 bowls! You have found the maximum...

    Smoking My First Meerschaum

That's a beautiful pipe. I had no idea that the bulldog or rhodesian style was made back then. I'm with rothnh about the amber... It has a nice color showing, but it's a bit strange that the inside of the bowl is still white.

    Meerschaum Availability?

That's a good question, and I'd like to know myself. African Meerschaum ran out some time ago.
